Costco agreed the thing can't be repaired and they will pick it up and give me a full refund.

Thing is 1.5 years old. Meanwhile the 52" Sony I bought in 2008 - 14 years ago - has never had any problems whatsoever. I'm getting nothing but Sonys from now on.

And fuck Vizio also. I've had two of them just die on me over the last 4 years.

Anything Samsung is absolute junk. I made the mistake of buying all Samsung appliances when I remodeled 6 years ago.

Replaced ice maker twice, new one not working and gave up, Microwave door had to be replaced and now it starts a timer out of the blue for no apparent reason.

The dishwasher is a pain in the ass and the filter has to be changed after just a few washes or it will continuously run, trying to clean dishes over and over again, until you have to manually turn it off.

And lastly the stove...it, along with all these appliances were bought in the "black stainless" series. Turns out that is just a colored film over regular stainless material and guess what? It all peels off near the burners because of heat.

Needless to say, we are very dissatisfied with these purchases and we are about to yank them all out and replace with some other brand besides Samsung.

This would have been nice to know. I did go with GE microwave and Stove, but did dishwasher, fridge and washer/dryer all Samsung about 4 months ago...

At our last house, we had a Samsung washer and dryer. Keeping with the theme, they were complete garbage.

Sorry to hear. The really fucked up thing about ours is our old appliances were all working properly and when we replaced them we gave the old units to my daughter and SIL. They are all still working fine...

You'll be happy to know, that due to being black stainless, she has no magnets on the fridge.

From what I understand, newer Samsung appliances worked out a lot of the kinks the old ones had.
Then again, maybe they just haven't had enough time to show their problems, yet.

As far as magnets not sticking, this may have changed since the last time I bought a stainless fridge, but then the only brand of stainless fridges magnets would stick to were Maytag.

They may have fixed the problem. There was a class action law suit filed but I never heard what became of it. Had too much trouble during Covid to get a m'wfker to come by and fix it so I gave up. Bought a stand alone ice maker.
