Emoni Bates

This kid fell from grace quickly. I blame most of it on his dad. Should've have just stayed at MSU. Watched him as a hs school freshmen and he was incredible. Damn shame.
 
Didn't read the article in OP but read about this the other day. Not sure the kids backstory but the car was borrowed. He might should get some leniency for that.

Bates was a consensus 5-star recruit and one of the top basketball recruits coming out of high school in the 2021 class. As a sophomore in high school he appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated and won the Gatorade National POY for up and coming high school athletes. He originally committed to play his college career at Michigan State. But he decommitted and ended up going to Memphis.
