What is wrong with Miami?

Ever watched the documentary? The story about the dude that made the T-shirts is hysterical.
The best was he had like $40,000 in cash he asked the dorm rector to hold for him.

True but their run was great. They have 5 National Titles.

That is arguably more titles than the following Blue Bloods: Michigan, Nebraska, Tennessee, and Texas. If you take out leather helmet days, they have more than Notre Dame as well.

Hell in the color tv (modern era) they have more than any of the Blue Bloods not named Alabama.
Nebraska has 5. 1970, 1971, 1994, 1995, 1997

Not a commuter school. It's a private selective school that draws heavily from the Northeast.

yeah. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a private school being called a commuter school. They have a decent amount of alumni in the Northeast, as you noted. They really depend on Miami locals to fill the stands and that’s tough with the NFL in town

Their facilities suck, their stadiums is 30-60 minutes awful from the actual campus.

I hate to say it but Miami almost seems like a program that was a flash in the pan and really should have never been as ELITE as they were in the 1980s - early 2000s. I feel like they are just not a program that is going to come back easy if ever.

I feel like Nebraska and Texas will eventually find success again.
why? they are both in harder conferences than they used to be. well Nebraska is and Texas will be. like it matters. if they couldnt get back with Kansas, Kansas State and Texas Tech on the schedule i dont know how going to the SEC will help

Oh, okay. I had heard commuter school. Sounds more like they don't get a lot of students from the local area, so they don't have a long term connection to the school.

We talk a lot about Nebraska and Texas on here but Miami has pretty much been dead since early 2000s as a program. They tend to get decent coaches and they get talent but it never seems to translate to wins. Anyone know what is wrong with their program?
Small private university that can't win without cheating pretty much covers it.

Mario has a shot if he gets the NIL cash flowing and allows the “swagger” to come back. You get Snoop and some of the other rappers bought in, wearing the gear and they could be the old Thug U in no time.

He doesn’t even have to supply the hookers and blow as they will be able to buy it themselves just keep them out of jail.

Recruiting isn't going to be the issue

Miami doesn't have the athletes right now so that is unknown. If they get the athletes they should do well in the ACC.

I think Texas will do better with its move. It looks better going 5-7 in SEC vs. Big12 plus I have a feeling interest and recruiting for the Texas teams left behind will plummet while Texas and Texas A&M will become the big show in the state.

Nebraska just needs a coach to win again. They got the fan support.

5-7 is 5-7 especially if some of those loses are coming from out side the SEC.
fan support doesnt win games.

Off all the CFB teams in Texas, the rusty cows and agnuts ALREADY have the highest rated recruiting classes. A&M's already in the SEC (duh) How's that move going to improve when Texas moves to the SEC? I guess they can go from #5 to #3 but I don't see that as being real significant.

They stopped illegally paying players?

People will turn their tvs off and not see Baylor, Texas Tech, etc. play unless they are ranked high like Cincy last year.

This will hurt more than you think because recruits (even the recruits they get now) won't be watching them.

You basically relegate them to 2nd tier with the move.

Sometimes when you keep hitting rock bottom, a change, any change, is the best action to get you out of it.

I will say this that Texas tends to play better in their BIG games as opposed to standard Big12 teams. Motivation seems to be part of their problem.
