Tuesday - There's a Hurricane coming through

I thought that was strange, since no one can foresee where those people were going, could have been evacuating.

I'd have got gas 2 days sooner if I was them or her though.
it just makes sense to stock up on gas...as it is a pretty important commodity that might not be readily available if the storm is really bad.

^^ this forecast track for Ian is different than Charley. Just posted this to confirm that Ian was a little west so I don't think it goes as far south.

If it's brand new, I don't think it's disgusting. Just seems like there are easier ways.

A funny bit that has so far been missed is that she won't spend money on bottled water that she doesn't need because she needs that money to buy trashcans and bleach to hold water that she does need. . .
My wife is fucking addicted to bottled water, drives me crazy.
In Florida I understand, our water is orange even after running through 2 filters and a water softener.

Here at home our Lake of Egypt water was proclaimed THE BEST WATER IN THE UNITED STATES. Yet she still buys it.
Really. I drink a bottle of water and then refill it for like 5 days from the bathroom sink to keep on my nightstand.

I just think she worries too much about what other people do. I know lots of people that wish they got gas before Harvey.

my mother in law gets pissed because i run tap water for Coffee in the morning. It doesn't taste different and the heat of the coffee will kill any bacteria.

fair...I went back and reread it and she does say brand new

but I agree....why a trashcan at all? There are actual water holding things out there that can be used
Yep.

In fact, I think there's different plastics/treatments used for "food grade" containers. I say this because I have an addiction to buying 5-gallon buckets from hardware stores. I find them pretty useful. I probably have 10-15 of them at my house. Anyway, I was at an Farm/Ag store recently and noticed they had two types, regular and "food grade." I haven't done any research to figure out what the difference is, but I thought it was interesting.

I bought a couple to use for soaking cedar planks.

can you imagine drinking water out of a trashcan you cleaned yourself?

that's disgusting
I have a couple large bottles from Stanley that are deep enough that I can't scrub them with a regular sink brush, so I bought a brand new toilet brush, washed it in the dishwasher and use that to scrub these bottles. Even though logically it's clean, it still kind of grosses me out. Not enough to not do it, though.

or you could just buy a couple water jugs.

not that big a deal.

Welp, there goes my plan.
Might work with a shotgun, you don't have to aim those.

Actually just the sound of racking the shotgun might scare the hurricane away.

I do not like plastic bottles and avoid them as much as I can. I saw some thing about the floating plastic islands out in the middle of the oceans and thought that was gross.

Kind of been trying to avoid all single-use plastic since then. Obviously, you can't avoid it all these days, but I do the best I can. We used to go through flats and flats of 16oz bottled water here at the office, but I bought a water cooler and everyone Yeti cups to drink from.

I've also heard that there are trace amounts of plastic in the bottled water that could potentially get stuck in your gut.

So my take away is our gas prices are going to sky rocket again because some refinery had to go off-line due to Hurricane Ian. Which, btw is a real pussy name for a hurricane!

I don't use the Stanleys for water. Coffee and hot chocolate. Although they don't get used much at all any more since I bought a couple of Yeti 1-gallon jugs.

You guys have never made porch punch and it shows.

We have a couple 5 gallon bottles that are used for water coolers. Real handy for dry camping. Washed with bleach water after every fill up is emptied.

I have a big sports water jug in my garage for some reason. I think my ex bought it for sangria for our housewarming party years ago

My guess is it makes her feel a lot smarter when she points out how stupid she thinks everyone else is. Pretty ironic considering she's suggesting folks should not buy gas, but should bleach trash cans.

If gas prices sky rocket it will be because you clowns in Ohio had a refinery blow the fuck up the other day, I'm pretty sure there aren't any refineries in the path of this storm.
You Ohio fucks should really take better care of your refineries.

Careful with the "you guys".
