What is wrong with Miami?

Miami history should have an asterisk beside it as they have cheated to achieve anything in their history. The “steroid era” CFB program if you will.

Karma is biting them in the arse now that they can spend money for players ect. Legally but have fallen so far behind in the arms race that they can’t take advantage of it.

they've had an SRS above 10 three times since Coker left (last one was 2005). 2009, 2016 and 2017. In other words, they have not been very good.

People will turn their tvs off and not see Baylor, Texas Tech, etc. play unless they are ranked high like Cincy last year.

This will hurt more than you think because recruits (even the recruits they get now) won't be watching them.

You basically relegate them to 2nd tier with the move.
They are already 2nd tier.

Again, Baylor, Tech, etal are getting leftovers right now. Where are those leftovers going to go when Texas goes to the SEC? Montana State instead of Baylor? Tulsa instead of Texas Tech? Unless A&M and Texas are allowed to give more than 85 scholarships, they aren't going to get any more of the top rated players than they already are. And Texas and A&m don't want the 3* players Tech, Baylor and TCU are getting right now. They'd have gotten them in the first place if they did want 'em. Geez, Louise it is simple math.

In 2022 Texas had the #5 recruiting class in the nation. They got 2-5*s and 20-4*s. The next closest Texas school from the Big 12 was Baylor at #37 with 0-5*s and 3-4*s. Let me repeat that....zero, zilch, nada five stars and only three four stars. 32 spots behind Texas while in the Big 12. How's it going to get worse....Texas going up to #4 and Baylor dropping to #38 so 34 spots? Whoopie taaa, big fuckin' deal. Going to the SEC ain't going to make didley squat difference in who Texas gets and who Baylor gets. IT IS ALREADY LOPESIDED!

They could go to schools like Arkansas, Missouri, Ole Miss, etc.

Granted, I don't see this happening immediately and playoff expansion could really help the remaining Big12 schools.

I guess some could go to those types… but they are already getting 3*s from Texas

I don't think you would notice drop off at first either, it will take time for the true effects of money situation, etc. to impact Big12 and Pac12.

No, I think the money situation is going to impact them immediately. But not through recruits. I think you are going to see the "middling three" conferences lose their best coaches/assistants to teams from the Big 2...more than they already are. They just won't have the revenue to compete...at least throughout the entire athletic program. I think that's where you'll see it first. Hell, aren't some coordinators already making more than many head coaches? JMO
