First "Classic Movie" you saw in a theater when it was first released/year

Did that have the intermission break in the middle so you could go get popcorn.




You betcha. They have it in the middle of another classic, Lawrence of Arabia. Can't say for sure but maybe Bridge on the River Kwai as well.
 
Same, although I think it was 1977. My dad took us to San Francisco to see it in a “good” theater.

As I said somewhere, I was viewing on a larger screen than normal (70 MM) with Dolby THX, etc.

But the important part was psilocybin.

When the movie ended I was still gunning for the Death Star!
 
Krull. I’m not sure if I saw Empire in the theatre.
 
I don't know if these fall under the definition of "classic" but I saw The Matrix the weekend it was released. That was awesome.

I also saw The Blair Witch Project when everyone thought it was real. When the movie ended, everyone just sat there for a few moments in a state of shock.
