Nah. I usually do that, anyway. I meant it when I said United had an awesome frequent flyer program.
It's been a long time since I've flown without using an upgrade, and not because I'm some Platinum Member, or whatever that's called.
I've just been able to find cheap flights with available upgrades at the time of booking.

It wasn’t even a half full flight and I’m guessing almost no one paid to select their seat, so… why not just assign the seats automatically so the weight is distributed from the jump?

There were ZERO snacks on these puddle jumpers in the Caribbean. I mean, the flights were often less than 30 minutes, so I kinda get it...but I've been on short caribbean (or hawaiian) flights before where they at least gave you a soda. The ones in the Grenadines had this red currant drink that was delicious
