GAME #15 Washington (4-0) @ UCLA (4-0) 10:30 pm (ET) ESPN

USC, 60's, 70's and late 80's. Sporadically decent seasons in the 90's, Pete arrives in early 00's and they go .500 and then he starts winning.

How quick OD loves to forget that Oregon football was a laughing stock until 1994. They didnt really become a consistent threat until 2008 and even then had a drop off from 2015-2018

Football didn't start in the 90s bud.

They had 9 natty's before 1990.
We are getting to a point where a recruits parents wouldn't have been alive during the time of USC's dominance before Pete.

FIFY

He inherited a mess when he arrived. Again, UCLA was really good 2 decades ago, but went mediocre to bad as of recent before Chip took over. Chip went 8-4 last year and currently 4-0. It's like people forgot that Chip can coach.

Interesting tidbit, Chip Kelly wanted to coach at Tennessee after both Fulmer left and Kiffin left and stupid Tennessee administration didn't hire him. A lot of Vols fans were salty at our Admin for that. (We also missed out on Gary Patterson as well during that time period).

It’s like they’re made for each other.

Actually, he’d be the perfect fit at oregon if he didn’t have everything handed to him.

They still remember that year were Lane Kiffin had them preaseason #1 :dhd:

Wrong. The 1994 season kicked things off for us. I'd argue the 1994 season is when we started to become a consistent threat.

When was an era that a PAC team was truly dominant?

If you want to be that specific, we are getting to a point where no one remembers a team's sustained dominance that isn't in Tuscaloosa.

I am not trying to be mean but it is hard to call yourself a threat when you still haven't won a National Title. USC won National Titles under Carroll and was consistently in top ten.

Oregon seems to have a good season every 3-4 years. It was different under Kelly, you had a good 4-5 year run but even modern Oregon was not as consistent or as dominate as the Pete Carroll teams.

Vol fans are delusional when it comes to coaching searches. How many times was Gruden to Tennessee a done deal?

Oregon 2001 should've gone to the NC.

Oregon would've won the national title in 2007 if Dixon doesn't get hurt.

Oregon goes to NC game in 2010.

Oregon goes to NC in 2014.

4 national title game appearances should be on the Ducks history wall in the span of 21 years.

Consistent threat in what sense...? Champions of Oregon?

Oregon have only had 3 or so teams in the past 30 years that had a legitimate shot at a National Championship. That's not what I would consider a 'consistent threat'.

Don't look now, but Lanning and Lupoi are...

80th in Total Defense
94th in Scoring Defense

Muschamp and Smart are no longer holding Lanning's hand.
Yeah, but that's just because they went down and got butt fucked by Georgia..... They get to hang their hat on that.

Where's my Princeton fans at? Let's tout how awesome that football program is

Doesn’t it ever get a little embarrassing that the best you can do is “shoulda…”

See, if you were smart, you'd pick out Minnesota and not Princeton.

But alas, those fans aren't on here saying how much of a consistant threat their team has been since the mid-90's.

Lol, Dixon was completely healthy when Oregon lost to a Cal team that would finish 7-6 AT HOME

They would not had beaten LSU or Ohio State that year.

Off the top of my head there is 2001, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2019.
