Better Job

That is what they are doing in the NFL -- they have mobility to avoid the rush, but they aren't running QB's. You don't see them calling RPO plays for Mahomes. The team signed him to a $500 million dollar contract.

I wasn't stating those QB's were pocket passers in college or played in a pro style offense. I was listing the QB's in the NFL that teams aren't going to use RPO schemes for them.
That may be their NFL way. But they damn sure were not developed that way…which gets us back to the “Wisconsin” way. Further proof you don’t have to play in a pro style offense in high school and college to be prepared to play in the NFL. Neither do the linemen.

WhoPhoneDis doesn't know shit.

Being interviewed for a job and actually being offered the job are two different things.
Nebraska's coaching search hit national news again the other day when Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer said no thanks to the Cornhuskers

Long known as a bastion of coaching
stability, Nebraska hasn't been able to find anyone to take over
its football program.

Where most schools go only a few days between the departure of a
coach and the arrival of a new one, Nebraska athletic director
Steve Pederson on Thursday began the 40th day of his search for
Frank Solich's successor.

Says who?

Pederson? No

Some idiots trying to get a pay raise where they were? Likely
Yes -- all programs take a month and a half to hire a new coach, when they fire them at the end of the year.

You're a gullible idiot.

Trev Alberts has not offered anyone the job.

Mickey Joseph is auditioning.

Good lord -- We are talking about 2004. That is when multiple coaches turned down Nebraska, which is what I stated. Right now -- You may as well hire Mickey Joseph now, as no big time coach is coming to Nebraska to let their career die.

This is what you said, idiot.

"Nebraska's coaching search hit national news again the other day when Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer said no thanks to the Cornhuskers"

The other day is 2022.

Then what exactly have those alum been waiting for? Which recruits have Nebraska alum bought since NIL was allowed? Which high profile coach has the Nebraska alum brought on over the past 20 years? Hell -- when they hired Callahan, they had three separate coaches turn down the head coaching job before he agreed to it.

After the termination of Solich, at least 3 coaches rejected offers from Pederson. In the end, Pederson settled on Bill Callahan

For crying out loud -- do I have to spell out the conversation for you? Nebraska had, at least 3 coaches, turn down the Nebraska job in 2004 -- it is why it took so long for Nebraska to get a coach. I simply posted some of the quotes of coaches who turned down Nebraska.

Those are your words are they not?

It clearly says "The other day". i.e. reference 2022.

If they're someone else's words then you should have put it in quotes. Maybe you should learn to write a legible sentence?

Is Pederson or Nebraska on record saying Zimmer turned the job down? No

Wisconsin has a better chance at sustaining moderate consistent success than Nebraska does at regaining it IMO.

No they aren't my quotes -- And yes, it is on record that multiple coaches turned down the Nebraska job in 2004. It is why it took you so damn long to hire a coach. The quote was from a 2004 ESPN headline.

It is also why I wouldn't be surprised in the least to see Mickey Joseph given the job, because no big name coach is going to Nebraska and putting themselves in a huge recruiting hole with a fan base who thinks they have a legit shot to be elite again. It simply isn't happening.

So it wasn't Pederson or Nebraska on record saying Zimmer (or anyone else) turned the job down?

Got it.

If Nebraska finally gets a grip on reality and understand that their ceiling in today's CFB is 8, 9, 10 win type team and there isn't a chance in hell they will compete with the nationally elite, because they have no shot at recruiting at the same level as the national elite -- then I'd say Nebraska is the better job.

Based on expectations -- Wisconsin is the better job, as they just want to compete in their division each year. They don't have pipe dreams of being nationally elite.

Yes -- it was all made up. Nebraska just decided, who needs a head football coach for a couple months after the season to recruit, so we have all the time in the world

Nebraska fans are truly delusional. Wow.

You can bet a lot of it is. Coaches play the interest game to get pay raises or promotions where they're at.

Callahan eventually getting fired from Oakland was fairly obvious.

Callahan was not a bad coach, his longtime buddy Cosgrove as defensive coordinator was a bad coach.

I’m announcing that I have withdrawn my name from the Nebraska Coaching search. However I’m very optimistic about the Calhoun Community College job.

Yea good luck with that though. Lol.

Since you seem to think no one is turning down the Nebraska job, even though it is on record -- I will bet you a lifetime avy bet, Nebraska doesn't bring in one of the top coaches to take over the program, like LSU and USC did.

Nebraska fans seem to think they have a blank check to give to whoever they want to take over the program, so obviously one of the elite coaches in CFB should be taking over the program.

I would almost bet my life it ends up being Mickey Joseph or some coordinator from an actual elite program that ends up being HC. No established head coach in CFB is leaving a job to go to Nebraska knowing they truly believe they should be competing with the Alabama's, Georgia's, Ohio State's, etc. when you have zero talent in state or around you, the two states you used to be solid recruiting (texas and cali) are no longer truly options as you play in the Midwest now and you have no national rivals anymore.

Nebraska will win a Natty before Georgia wins another one. I'll bet my left nut on that one.
Last year was 1997 all over again … Georgia chickened out, and ran to the playoffs so they wouldn’t have to play you. Congratulations on the 2021/2022 Title.
