Matt Rhule likely landing spot

Rhule picked Baylor over Oregon in 2016 because he loved the idea of having major talent within driving distance. He doubled down on in-state recruiting by hiring three former Texas high school coaches, including current Texas Tech coach Joey McGuire, who openly considers himself a branch off the Rhule coaching tree.

Rhule notably took the Baylor job over Oregon a few years back because he wanted his recruiting base to be more local.

Any article you read on Rhule will tell you the same thing. I realize as a fan of a state with no talent, you don't like to hear this, but there is a reason why Nebraska, even as a blue blood isn't a program coaches are fighting to go coach at.

The name I hear the most is Hugh Freeze.

Personally, I go after Mark Stoops and Lane Kiffin although I don't think either takes it.
After that, I would try and get Dave Clawson or Matt Rhule.

If Auburn wants to take a risk and I think he would be better than Freeze I would look to Kendal Briles.

My Ranking:

1. Lane Kiffin
2. Mark Stoops
3. Dave Clawson
4. Matt Rhule
5. Hugh Freeze
6. Kendal Briles
7. Kevin Steele

If I had to bet it will be Freeze.
Auburn tries to run Harsin off for allegedly messing around with skirts but then runs and Hires Hugh?

I get they just wanted Harsin gone but…

Would I take Freeze at Auburn? Yes 100% but, the PR (I know, Auburn could give two squats about their image) would be uncomfortable to say the least imo.

Auburn put themselves in this mess and honestly they deserve what they end up with.
