It was the roaring 20s before the depression so orphans and homeless didn't exist so I doubt you sold out.
 
This is sick but true. I got kicked out of a restaurant and banned at a bowling alley in Moore, Oklahoma when I was in college after I asked the guy taking my order if they served orphans. He told me yes they did. I told him "Good, I'll have a girl then. Well done please".
