So, apparently part of the story is that Haskins wasn't putting in the work.
I'm not necessarily one for "first guy to show up, last guy to leave" indicating productivity or time well spent, but the NFL is a different animal, and the whole "QBs should turn the lights on in the morning and off at night" is kinda hard-coded into the league.
So, when you aren't executing the game plan, and you give the impression that other people who aren't suiting up are working harder than you, it kinda puts you in a bad spot.

Ron Rivera. As soon as he got hired and traded for Allen it seemed pretty clear Haskins would get benched at the first chance.
Wasn't a HUGE Haskins guy but it's pretty clear he's getting a raw deal and had the misfortune of being drafted by a disorganized and dysfunctional franchise.
