Sometimes. When it's bad weather out, they all ride in the cab. Which doesn't even make a lot of sense, because you have to get out every few feet to grab the cans, anyway.
If i had been smart, I would have taken the civil service exam back when I first moved here, put in my 20 years on the truck, and then either retired on my pension to start a second career, or moved into management in the DSNY.
They do that here for yard waste, but it’s all automated in the truck for trash and recycling. It sucks for the yard waste guys when the acorns start falling because everyones bags are heavy as shit.
Property tax assessments in the county I moved out of 3 years ago are up 50% year over year. People are screaming mad and upset.
Those assessments were obscene when I left in 2019, and were the primary reason I sold and moved away from there.
