Matt Ryan is pretty much done in Indy

Ryan has one more year on his contract so he will be with the team as I don't see anyone wanting him. The Colts are only paying like 24 million a year for him so that's pretty middle of the road.
I'm talking about next year. Doesn't Ryan have a 35M cap figure next year? That's why i would expect the colts to cut him this offseason if they at all can (cap permitting).

I think both of them will want to keep playing. Indy likely cuts Ryan loose if they can (cap wise) and Brady's contract is up. Ryan might end up as a backup somewhere (or starter in SF, after Lance gets hurt, LOL), but Brady is still better than a lot of starters out there.
I’ve been assuming Tom plays for your Niners, or finally retires.

March 17th is the date to watch. He has a big bonus due that day and that's when his 2023 money is guaranteed. They would save 17m in 2023 by cutting him prior to 3/17/23

could any other team use him?

broncos?
texans?
Carolina be all

I thought he would end his career in Atlanta because he’s too damn old to you play effectively in the NFL. I can’t believe that Indy took a chance on him

I hope you're right. I'd love to see Brady playing in SF (even if it is 3 years too late). If Brady wanted to play for the Niners next season, I don't think Kyle could say no.

Indy would be best going all in on a top QB in the draft. None of this 4th round feel good story like Sam Meh'linger.

Pretty irrelevant

This is a move you make because you cant replace your entire OL

The Colts can't block

Cant pass block. Can't run block.

Ehlinger is going to get murdered but at least he can move a little so theoretically you're at least giving yourself a shot

I feel bad for Matt though. This isn't what he signed up for. He was supposed to be going to a team with an elite OL, a great RB and he was only going to have to manage the game

Instead he's on a team who can't block, who is 30th in rushing and who's best WR is a WR2
A shitty situation but at this point there's nothing else Indy can do. They have to make the switch because if you can't block you can't trot out a guy like Ryan at QB

So Belichick will steal draft picks from the Colts for Mac Jones next year.

For as good as he once was, he will always be remembered for the ultimate pants shitting during SB 51.

I’ll always feel like Miami totally messed up passing on him to take Jake Long. You just don’t pass on a franchise QB like that.

you can be 99.9999999999% sure that he won't be on the roster as of March 17th. Jim Irsay might be a crackhead, but he ain't that dumb.

I thought the Falcons made a bad pick at the time. I was wrong. Easily the best QB in franchise history even with the 28-3 choke over his head.

Kind of a shame really. There were some really good Falcons teams with Ryan at QB and they never could make it over the top.

Ryan over Vick?

Ryan over Vick?
Pretty easily IMO. Had Vick had any kind of dedication and work ethic, he was more talented, but he never studied film or the playbook and just relied on his insane athleticism. Never had back to back winning seasons with Vick at QB.

Then plus the whole going to prison deal. He gets a lot of blame for the whole Bobby Petrino fiasco

That’s a great debate right there. Vick was the bigger playmaker but Ryan was overall more solid without any real weaknesses.
Agree. Ryan was around longer, had better stats, and was the better QB. But Vick was electric and dominant while in ATL but didn't get the results that Ryan did.

Pat McAfee show was talking about how the locker room hated the move. Probably why Nyheim Hines wanted a trade besides lack of touches.

What a disaster the Colts have been, aye?
Think of all the regression they have had: Johnathan Taylor, the O-Line, Darius Leonard, ect
Frank Reich is 100% fired at years end, Ballard should probably go too if it was his brilliant idea to keep bringing in old Qb's instead of draft one after Luck
