Champions League 2022/2023

Can't argue with that right now with this form.

One thing that has confused me a bit recently, unless I've missed an injury note, is that Sabitzer has been on the bench.
He is on the bench because Goretzka has been in form since he returned. He'll get second half time still, but not as good as Goretzka right now.

Eagles with the big win over Olympique.

Got absolutely shit on by VAR.

Spurs are charlie brown, refs are Lucy. Instead of just missing the kick, Spurs fell on top of a turd.

Guys on SIRIUS said the Spurs call correct, but the rule sucks.

Great win. Remember a couple weeks ago when Bayern thrashed Leverkusen 5-0? Lukas Hradecky had the hilarious howler and gave Muller a gift goal? He got payback on penalty save after game over and now Atletico out UCL. Handball call.was borderline, but by FIFA rules heading to World Cup...a penalty. Great to see Simeone and especially Mr 50 different haircuts Griezemann out of UCL.

Saw his impressive PK save after the Bayern match ended. Crazy drama.

Just wondering is Xavi the English Frank Lampard? A star as a player, but not quite ready for this prime time. Poch is still sitting out there. Villa was his rumored destination, but not big enough. Unai Emery took the Villa job. How about Tuchel at Barcelona? Lewey would love that lol.

Conte got an immediate red card in the aftermath. Honestly, im shocked some players didn't get the same treatment. I know it would have been difficult for me to stay cool after that.

It's a black and white rule, and it is what it is. Still really sucks the fun out of the game.

You see Villa offered the job to Tuchel and he immediately said no thanks?

I agree with Conte. VAR taking the fun out of the game. Bayern lost a goal yesterday because Gnabry's man bun drifted ahead of the defenders hair folicle. Ridiculous. Their first two goals just as close. Mane's goal, the defenders hand just ahead of his. Best things is to get enough goals in the 90+ minutes and not leave it to the refs. Atletico Madrid thought the refs helped them, but not to be because they didn't take the game earlier.

P.S. Conte was guaranteed a red card. You know his temper. But the red card worth it there.

Forgot about that. Tuchel somehow thinks he is Pep and Ancelloti level.

Yup, agree with all of that. IMO, if the review takes 5min to figure out, then it's probably close enough that the play should stand. But maybe Spurs will benefit from one of these soon and I'll change my tune. I knew damn well that when they take that long to review, they were going to change the call.

Correct. 5 minutes it is borderline for sure. A man bun or a finger tip and it is offside. Ridiculous. I saw the highlight. I didn't see offside.

In the the Atletico / Levercusen game, it came on the last play. So the penalty kick should have been the final play, but the rebound off the post and then another deflected save over the bar were allowed. WTF was that? Ref on Paramount+ said they allowed it continue until ball out of penalty area. Huh? Original handball at END of game. Where did the extra 5 seconds of injury come from? Leverkusen really got screwed, only Atletico ineptness saved them.

If they are to revamp anything, I'd LOVE them to revamp time keeping. Its so much guesswork.
When we played Newcastle in league over the weekend, i think i saw someone on twitter say the ball was actually in play for under an hour. The ref of course gave the obligatory 5 min after 90.

Absolutely. Most times they short change the injury time. So no wonder there is so much delay. Players taking forever to get off the field on subs, goaltender acting like he got hit by a canon on every save. If I was a ref, I would take out a red card on substitutions, and if not off the field in 30 seconds or so, I'd show it. I watched that Newcastle game too.
