Big Week in SEC Next Week

@WhosYourDawggy

The one area that may be key for Georgia is your defensive line. You were able to get pressure this past Saturday. You could really mess up the Heupel attack if you can get your defenders in the back field.

I wasn't impressed enough with your secondary to think they can slow down the Tennessee passing game. I could be totally wrong. However, your front is very good. If you can get the pressure, that maybe your key to stopping the Tennessee Offense.
We may have lost our team D captain, and our best rush/set the edge player. Dislocated shoulder. Let's hope he can play. That said, we will pressure you in an organized fashion designed to take away half the field. If Jalen Carter can go - he played 3rd downs against UF - that will help a lot.

You are about to go up against the best secondary you've seen all year, so not sure what you saw that didn't impress you. Had one blown coverage where a true freshman misplayed Cover 2. Ringo got beat once where he was in great position but mistimed his jump. I wouldn't be surprised if we get burnt a time or two. Your O is really good, and Hooker is playing very well. But that's not what it is all about ... he won't find wide open receivers all game long. We will play what we always do - a bend but don't break defense that will take away your running game.

We don't have to play perfectly, but play a sold game and keep you at 30 points or less, something we do regularly. The problem you have is that we have just as potent an offense and you don't have nearly as good a defense. How do you expect to keep is to under 30 points?

@WhosYourDawggy

Last year isn't this year :).

Stetson Bennett is your key and I don't think he is as good a QB as Bryce Young and Hendon Hooker.

Our defense isn't great but its awfulness is exaggerated a little by the "statistics." I think you are in for a surprise.

You may want to rewatch that game Georgia played in Atlanta last year against Alabama because I could see this one playing out similarly.

All of the pressure is on Georgia to win. That is another factor. Tennessee has nothing to lose.

Overall Georgia is a better team but I am not sure this is a good matchup for you.

Regarding Alabama's defense, I think it has declined the last 3-4 years but some of that just deals with the changes in CFB, notable penalties that weaken defenses.

They are still a great defense. Look what they did against Miss State.

Alabama may still be the best team in the country in my opinion but we will need to see.

Also to say your secondary will stop Tennessee is pretty arrogant. UK fans said the same thing. I saw UF get a 70 yard bomb against you in 3rd quarter. I think you will see this happen a couple of times this game. It happened to Georgia against Alabama in Atlanta last year and your defense was arguable better last year.

As stated it is going to come down to whether you can put pressure and whether Stetson can match Tennessee in scoring.

When you say in a post that we have to figure out your coach's offensive scheme, and last year's performance indicates we have figured out his scheme, then it's relevant.

Fortunately, he doesn't have to be as good as Young or Hooker. It's a team game. He wasn't as good as Young last year, right? Which one was drinking the Pappy Van Winkle after the NC game? He has to play well in our system which, as the stats indicate, but the press doesn't seem to want to cover, is just as potent as your team's system.

I mean let's say you have improved on D. I'll go with that. But you can't just ignore the fact you are still 84th out of 132. And that your pass D is like 130th out of 132, or something like that. In your biggest win in forever, your D gave up 49 points. And we have a better offense than Bama does.

So, which is it? Last year isn't this year, or should I watch last year's SECCG? What have you possibly seen this year that makes you think your D is as good as Bama's was last year?

I am expecting a good, close game. I think being at home will be a huge advantage for us. When you score early, which you will do, we need to make sure the crowd stays in it which I am confident we will do. But you seem to be underestimating our offense, while overestimating your defense. If one of us is analyzing this with hope over facts, it's not me.

It's not arrogant to say we have the best D you will have seen, nor that we have the best secondary you will have seen. And I mentioned the 70 yard pass - it wasn't a "bomb" - that was blown Cover 2 coverage for a long TD. I agree with you that you will likely break off a couple of big plays - I also said that in my post. So where exactly am I being arrogant?

If anything, it seems to me that you are overestimating the difference between our offenses probably because yours has been "exciting" while ours has been "efficient." Scores count either way. And you seem to be underestimating the difference in our defenses because I think you just want to. There is nothing you can point to in the stats that would support that.

Why do you keep saying it's whether Stetson can match UTjr in scoring? Have you followed us at all this year? Have you looked at the offensive stats I posted? Unless Stet shits the bed, or you guys play some miraculously perfect defensive game, we are going to score points, too. You realize that, right?

What does last year have to do with this year? Alabama and Florida shit us down last year as well. Ask them.

We will see. Bold talk from you though.

This game has a high likelihood of looking like the Alabama-Tennessee game 3 weeks ago. Alabama's defense is down but it isn't that much worse than the Alabama defense that beat you guys in Atlanta last year.

Listen to you. In the same post you literally told me not to look at last year and then told me to go to look at our game against Bama in the SECCG. So, which is it ... should we look at last year or not. Asking for a friend.

Bold talk? The fuck you talking about ... we are the defending NC, ranked no. 1 in the country, we have an O ranked just as high as yours and a D ranked considerably higher than yours, it's a home game for us, and the betting people have us as an 11.5 point favorite. And I am the one with bold talk? What, I'm supposed to be doing ... peeing down my leg because you guys have a great QB and are playing well? Fuck that.

Let's say the game looks a lot like the Bama game. You literally got lucky to win when Bama missed a field goal and mismanaged the clock, had 17 penalities and was played in an unreal home game atmosphere that had to be worth a couple TDs. That's the way you want this game to play out?

And again ... this is in the same post:

- What does last year have to do with this year?
- Alabama defense that beat you guys in Atlanta last year.

Make up your mind ... am I supposed to look at last year or not? Or does it just matter when it plays into your narrative?

As stated, we will see next week :).

You are what is wrong with a lot of sports fans in that you think teams are robots and don't get better or worse as season goes on.

I don't see your secondary stopping Hyatt, McCoy, and Tillman. You are in for a rude awakening and you heard it here first.

My predictions:

Heart:
UGA 38
Tennessee 17

Alabama 38
LSU 10

Head:

Tennessee 31
UGA 27

Alabama 27
LSU 24

I truly don’t know what I want this weekend.

A Tennessee win so Bama gets a rematch and revenge, so I don’t have to put up with Vol fans all year or do I want UGA to destroy Tennessee because fuck Tennessee.

Decisions, Decisions.
Not sure a rematch is what Bama would want -- I think any team with really good wideouts and a QB to get them ball is a nightmare for them. Tennessee put up all those points without Cedric Tillman against Bama.

Georgia would be a better matchup for Alabama. IMO.

What's funny is you are so sensitive. Of course we will see next week. I'll be there making noise. The idea you think I am what's wrong with sports fans is nuts. Re-read my posts - I admitted it's going to be a close game. I admitted you have been playing well. I said you will start fast and we have to make sure to keep our fans in the game. I admitted you will probably break off a number of big plays. I said all that before you even weighed in. I was very complimentary of what you have done this year. And you think that's what's wrong with sports fans?

I also pointed out that our offenses are nearly identically ranked. No comment from you, you just keep posting like you have the greatest O on the earth and that we have Stetson. I pointed out that our D is highly ranked and yours isn't. You responded with a "feeling" that yours is better than the stats show. You pointed at one blown coverage in the UF game, which I had already discussed, as if that is some systemic issue we have. You keep telling me not to look at last year when it's good for me, but insist I look at last year when it's good for you or bad for me. And I am what's wrong with sports fans? You need to grow some thicker skin.

Might you win this game? Of course. Might your WRs have great games? Of course. Would any of that be a rude awakening? Hell, no, of course it could happen, and I've even alluded to the likelihood of some of it happening. But. on paper we are favored and you are the underdog, but for some reason you expect me to come in here pissing down my leg scared of you guys? Nah, that's not going to happen because I am not a pussy. You might stop for minute with the "I'm what's wrong with sports fans" and realize that I actually put forth very cogent points as to why I think my team will win, and I did it all very civilly.

Georgia would be a better matchup for Alabama. IMO.
I think so too. Other than the 4th quarter of the NCG Bennett pisses down his leg against us. We can hold Georgia under 30 idk if we can hold Tennessee under 40. BUT DAMMIT I CANT GO A WHOLE YEAR OF VOLUNTARDS HAVING BRAGGING RIGHTS. They are the most obnoxious fan base in CFB.

Some quick early thoughts:

I'm really looking forward to the chess match between Heupal's offense vs Kirby's defense.
On one side, Tennessee might be good enough to drop 35+ on any defense. Like they say "good offense beats good defense" or maybe that only works in the NBA :noidea:. On the other side I believe UGA defense is still the best in the country, they are well coach, they're great at communicating on the back end and they're playing in Stanford stadium

On the other side of the ball. Tennessee defense looked pretty good against Kentucky and is looking like they might be improving from what they were from earlier in the year. But then again Kentucky is only 61st in offense yards per drive and 77th yards per play (not including this past weekend) and UGA is 4th in offense yards per drive and 6th yards per play. So with that said I'm thinking UGA is dropping at least 40-50+, the way Monken's offense shifts/motion players to get the looks that they want, plus the ability of UGA players to get YAC it's going to be a problem for Tennessee

So for now I lean UGA, not sure by how much let. Also, give me the over if it's not at least 80

Just to point out -- Georgia will be, BY FAR, the best defense Tennessee will see this year. So while Tennessee has looked great -- I wouldn't start getting overconfident. A defense doesn't have to stop WR's if they are pressuring a QB. So I'd worry more about Tennessee's OL handling Georgia's front 7. If that doesn't happen -- Hooker may not have the time needed to find those WR's.

I kinda think Tennessees offense has the edge. I just know what Bryce, Jameson, and Metchie did to a much better UGA secondary in the SECCG. And Hooker and Tennessees recievers are better than Bryce, Jamo, and Metchie were for us last year.

I would point out that UGA will be the best defense and the best offense that Tenn will have seen all year. The lack of love for our O is kind of baffling.

All that said, and so @Volbound1700 doesn't get his panties in a twist, I fully expect it to be a dogfight. UTjr has some crazy momentum going for them, and have confidence going for them that can be contagious. I would not want to be playing this game in Knoxville, that's for sure.

Not to take away from your point, but our secondary is better this year than it was last year. And I am going to have to disagree that Hooker and WRs are better than what you had last year. Both are quite good, but your O last year going into the SECCG was one of the best.

I think it's very possible for Tennessee to score in the 40s but I'm a little hesitant because they're going from playing in Knoxville to playing in Athens

You are the guy that is predicting a guaranteed win for Georgia and that you guys are going to hold us to 17 points. Good luck with that.
