Took you long enough to come to the correct answer....yeah ok 5th best.
Ranking of Pass Defenses faced by Oregon
Georgia #13 - a game in which Nix and the whole team were awful
Eastern Washington - a 2-6 FCS team
BYU - #49
Washington State - #73
Stanford #45
Arizona - #108
UCLA - #74
Cal - #126
Teams left -
Colorado - #88
Washington - #100
Utah - #41
Oregon State - #67.
The one game against a legit pass defense they looked completely awful.
name the ones ahead6th best.
Penix has more total yards but lower completion % lower avg yards per pass and lower rating.Took you long enough to come to the correct answer.
kind of a double edge sword isnt it
Georgia's legit pass D has faced passing offenses ranked what? 83, 84, 86, 93, 99, 103
Nix and Oregon the only top 25 passing O so far had the highest rating and QBR compared to the rest of the teams UGA has played.
2, 10, 78, 118 passing offenses remain so we'll see
but then so what Williams should fall under the same scrutiny being in the same conference and Rice and Fresno arent going to bolster those numbers.
Neat?Penix has more total yards but lower completion % lower avg yards per pass and lower rating.
or possible that at Auburn where his coach was fired then his new coach was just fired and he didnt have Oregon's line to give him time and so he was pressured more into bad throws. not to mention how often maturity over time sees improvement.Judging from Nix's past I think it's fair to assume his sudden uptick in passing production is a lot more due to the defenses he plays on the weekly rather than him having some great breakthrough improvement finally after years a mediocrity.
Stanford is the "best" comparable pass D Williams and Nix have both played
Williams 20/27 341 Yards 4 TD 0 INT
Nix 16/29 161 Yards 2 TD 0 INT
The edge throwing the ball there clearly goes to Williams
Let's see how Nix does vs Utah
Williams was 25/42 381 Yards 5 TD 0 INT vs them.
I never have either just that to suggest he is 5th best is laughable right now given the numbers.Neat?
I don't recall saying he was the best in the conference. All I've said is there are at least 5 all around similar status in the Pac. None are well ahead of the others. This to me negates that any are doing something extra special. They are all feasting on historically bad Pac defenses. That's just a fact.
I don't recall anyone else suggesting their QB should be in the Heisman running. If they have, by all means post a link so we can laugh at them too.

why is Stanford the only one you bring up?
is it because against Arizona Williams had 68.9 completion % and 85.2 QBR
or against WSU Williams had 51.7 completion % and 65.5 QBR
where as Bo had 80 completion % and 95.3 QBR against Arizona and 75 Completion % and 87.1 QBR vs WSU?
na na i get it use the game that fits your narrative even though they have multiple common opponents.
this is also against conference passing offenses ranking 1, 3, 15, 23, 30, 35. passing offenses with completion % ranking 2, 5, 12, 20, 32, 35, 39Ranking of Pass Defenses faced by Oregon

so is it because the QBs and passing games are good making the defenses look bad or the other way?
This is the second nix tribute thread in as many weeks and the last one specifically mentioned him for Heisman. You think it's a stretch to view this as an extention to that?I never have either just that to suggest he is 5th best is laughable right now given the numbers.
Find me a link of me tooting a horn saying Bo for Heisman. have i argued for him? yes. to those who laugh at the suggestion because of his past and not his present and ignoring his stats.

That's why these reactions are coming in. Nix got destroyed in his only high level game this year and looks more or less the same as no less than 4-5 other QBs in the Pac doing similar things.
That's not a Heisman resume.
If 1 or even 2 QBs go through a conference and dominate, you say it is those offense (could still be line, RBs, etc adding to it), but when it's half the conference? That can't be anything other than sub par defenses.this is also against conference passing offenses ranking 1, 3, 15, 23, 30, 35. passing offenses with completion % ranking 2, 5, 12, 20, 32, 35, 39

works going to the SEC too. Levis, Hooker, Daniels, Burrow all better coming from Big Ten, ACC and Pac 12.Michael Penix a mediocre at best QB at Indiana goes to Washington and starts literally leading the country in passing yards.
Prime example of how it is more of the defenses just being bad.
im sorry and how many did I post? This is the second nix tribute thread in as many weeks and the last one specifically mentioned him for Heisman. You think it's a stretch to view this as an extention to that?

You'd have to show where they all dominated good defenses outside of the conference at the very least.
They haven't.
