TV Series 1883

Hard for me to take a series seriously that has Tim McGraw as the lead actor.

Have you watched it? Even one episode?

He does a really good job.
I enjoy Yellowstone, but haven't watched any of 1883. When I saw McGraw & Hill were cast as they were, I figured it was Lifetime Network quality.

It’s really good if you like westerns. It has a dances with wolves vibe but centers around a wagon train.

Let’s be honest anything that Taylor Sheridan does is good.

It's 100% not Lifetime-ish.

It's raw, gritty, and really gives some insight into Oregon Trail times, the interactions with Native Americans, etc. Matter of fact, some Native Americans have given interviews where they have said it's one of the better depictions of them as a people during those times.

It's very high quality television.

"I don't know why those folks want to go home. It sounds like hell."
"Cause it's the hell they know."

Damn, I love this show.

Sheridan has a new show coming out soon.
What is this I'm hearing about 1923?

1923

After the success of 1883, the Paramount Network decided we needed another new spinoff. This will follow a different generation of Duttons "during the time of western expansion, Prohibition and the Great Depression." We see John Dutton's (Kevin Costner) ancestors in this era of the Duttons' story. Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren have been confirmed as the two leads of the upcoming series as Jacob and Cara Dutton. The series recently announced that it will span two 8-episode seasons.
