I think the difference is between people who are looking to have constructive discussions versus people who are trying to troll or just vent online.

Some people just want to talk football and have a good time. That being said, people shouldn't be harassed for controversial opinions. I am very big on the fact that the general consensus, including on this message board, can be wrong on items.

Regarding trolling, if you want to do that, go join some video game thread with 12-year olds. You would be right at home. Reddit or 4chan might be a good fit.

There’s a time and a place. When a Bama fan wants to puff his chest over a game that happened over a decade ago, the time for constructive, serious conversation is over.

Unpopular opinion here but I agree a little with your original post. It was very unfair that the 2011 LSU team was put in a rematch with Alabama. I personally would have sent Oklahoma State to play LSU in that title game even though I think LSU would have killed them.

Had the game been in Baton Rouge and been similar to Alabama's loss to Tennessee this year, I think a rematch was warranted but LSU won at Alabama that year.

LSU also beat Oregon (who won Pac12) and West Virginia (who won Big East) in the regular season. That LSU team played a very hard schedule and was jobbed with that rematch against Alabama.

LSU beat 3 of the final top 5 teams that year. Plus West Virginia and Georgia(SECCG). One of the best resumes of my lifetime. Hard to beat the same team twice. But Bama was there and they won it. But I wouldn’t question it if LSU were to claim a title. Would be more legit than a lot of the the pre BCS natty claims.
