I know he's recovering from an injury but he was supposed to be ready by the time the playoff started, pretty wild that players are now skipping out of the playoff.

Not a surprise. He needs an incredibly strong combine to make up for not playing this year. Has to prove he's healthy. Getting injured in early January would be pretty awful.

Opting out of a playoff game, we knew it would come to this. What a quitter

No one ever said he was supposed to be ready by the time the playoff started. It was all hopeful stuff. Rumors are that he messed it up quite a bit worse trying to play against Iowa. I don't blame him for deciding that he doesn't want to risk doing that again before the draft

In other news, him somehow playing was my only glimmer of hope for Ohio State to beat Georgia. I'm not looking forward to that game at all

Everything I was reading was giving OSU a better chance with all their receivers back.

This is asinine. Maybe this is some the silver lining with NIL and college. As prior to NIL players may see the dangers of playing and deciding to opt out of bowls and playoffs for the NFL money, but now with NIL, maybe you get boosters onboard and endorsements that these players realize there is money to be made if they stay and play in these games.

Maybe you have a point if it were a completely healthy person skipping. It is not

Don’t y’all have like 5 other elite receivers?

If I were an OSU fan, the defense would concern me far more than the receivers. The UGA o-line is really good this year, and we are getting our best WR back

Not an opt out imo.

Hasn’t played all year and might not be of help anyway due to inactivity and still not being %100.
Its an opt out disguised as an injury. Dude knows playing Georgia like Michigan will only hurt his draft stock.

We do have a very good receiving corps , no doubt. A healthy JSN would have given Ohio State two receivers that pretty much require a double team at the college level.

I am worried about the defense which is why I wanted the offense at top shape in order to try to make it a shoot out

No i know, these circumstances seem a bit different where he is injured and still not 100%, so he has an excuse to opt out.

A guy that hasn’t put on pads all year prolly doesn’t magically become a factor on account of a few weeks of practice.

This is far from Beckham signing with someone during the playoff push. It’s a kid who hasn’t been in the mix all year and now is confirmed that he won’t be for the next game.

He had 11 catches for 127 yards last season against Michigan. Why would he be scared to play them?

I know the vast majority of it came after UGA was up 35-10 and they took their foot off the gas, but what LSU was able to do with intermediate passes in the second half should give OSU something to look at.

I was hoping he could have at least been used like Waddle was used against us in 2020. As a really big distraction

As long as they go with it. We like to try to force our throws downfield when the defense is set up to stop it for some dumb reason.

Where did you hear that? Before the Michigan game by Day's comments I assumed he played his last game as Buckeye. He reaggravated the hamstring and it was said to be worse than his initial injury. I thought it was a longshot he would return at all
