We know players are gonna sit out. NFL is calling, NIL stuff, transfer portal, etc.
But, if you had to pick, what bowl games are you looking forward to not counting the CFP?

In no certain order, my choices are:
Alamo Bowl: Washington & Texas
Orange Bowl: Tennessee & Clemson
Gator Bowl: Notre Dame & South Carolina (Catholics vs. Cocks)
Sugar Bowl: Alabama & Kansas State
Citrus Bowl: LSU & Purdue
Rose Bowl: Penn State & Utah

For me it's the Rose Bowl. PSU hasn't won the Rose since 1994, and Utah never had and is coming off of last year's loss vs OSU. I think both teams will be at full strength with nobody sitting out, and both are going to be extremely hungry to get the win. I think it's gonna be a very close game and possibly a classic up to last year's level (though not as much scoring).

How many Bammers will need to sit out for K-State to have a puncher's chance?

If Bryce Young doesn’t play I like KSU. Alabama struggled to beat Texas without their starting QB for most of the game. Take Young off the board and add in a KSU team that is hungry plus B12 Champs and they can definitely win.

Most of bowl season has become looming forward to seeing your younger players play ever since they changed how many games count for redshirting and opt outs started happening with regularity.

And this is why I couldn't care less about any bowl that isn't the CFP. It is nothing more than a meaningless money grab exhibition game.

Makes it even dumber for comparing conference strength based on bowl games.

But naturally if a certain conference does bad it's because of opt outs and you can't judge based on it, but if they do good it STILL PROVES THEY ARE KING! (like teams in other conferences don't have opt outs) gotta love playing both sides of the fence

Some of the lower tier bowls where there are less likely to be a bunch of opt outs are fun to watch. It does get tough watching some of the "upper level" bowls though where some teams are playing with a MASH unit of backups.

The Oklahoma State-Wisconsin game was never going to be must watch, but now both starting QBs are in the portal.

Outside of the playoff games, the gambling aspect is the only reason I’ll pay attention to the bowls.
I live by Ford Field -- they usually host a bowl game that is the day after Christmas. I will take my kid up to watch the game. It is so bad now with the teams they get -- I don't have the heart to punish him like that. I think it is New Mexico State and Bowling Green this year

At least those teams will have their starting QBs, though that's not necessarily a good thing.

I can only assume Rodriguez won't play for Kentucky either, hasn't officially said so yet from what I see but seems to be a given.

None of them.

Not sure which conference you are referencing, but a certain conference having a bad Bowl season is still .500, not 1 and something. Just sayin'. They'll be just fine, opt outs or not.
