Prine is a sentimental deal for me in a way. My Dad, always played him, and many of his songs are simple and sing-able, so as a very young child I was belting that shit along with it. I was singing Illegal Smile at like, 5.

As I grew and explored his music on my own, I found it to be a neat combination of both whimsical, yet profound af. Dude was just a great songwriter.

I always felt Prine was who Dylan wished he was. Influential and important, yet somewhat underground and not mainstream.

I'm grateful to have seen him twice on his last tour, which included me taking my Dad to see him in high end seats where eaxh seat had a little table and we had waitresses routinely topping us off, and wherein we both met him and conversed for like 30 minutes.

Super cool moment/memory.
