Chris Beard, Texas men’s basketball coach, was arrested and charged with assault on a family member early Monday, according to multiple reports.

Austin police spokesman Brandon Jones said it is alleged that Beard strangled a person at a home in Tarrytown. Officers responded to a 911 “disturbance-urgent” call at 2:07 a.m. Monday, reported Tony Plohetski of the Austin American-Statesman and KVUE. Beard was arrested at 4:18 a.m. on Monday and charged with assault on a family/household member, Jeff Goodman of Stadium reported. Beard was booked with a third-degree felony.

I’m sure the money is nice and he’s an alumni. But I wonder if he realized the snobbery of that job and the fanbase being old rich folk and not the rabid fanbase and culture he got at tech games. Considering tech showed up and took over their home game.

Yeah if this is remotely true he may get jail time. Although he’ll probably plead it down. Much less he is most certainly done being employed by the University of Texas.
