Mazi Smith making headlines for all the wrong reasons

Glad that you pointed to the fact the OSU has had two cases in the three decades since the fab five where your players have been getting paid to play.

Yes and Clarett was removed from the team and Ohio State basically missed out on a national title because of the postseason ban that resulted from tat gate.

We don't pretend to be high and mighty about it like Michigan man does though.

Anyway, I got to leave work now. This was fun. This conversation is way more fun when Michigan has wins against MSU and OSU. Something I can't say I've ever experienced. Last time me and @7samurai13 had this conversation I think Michigan was staring down the barrel of Dantonio's like 4 game streak against us.

Michigan "self imposes" a post season basketball ban in a year they went 17-13 and weren't making the tourney anyway, and we are supposed to accept that it was some moral grand gesture. LMFAO!

I do enjoy that your biggest examples of some kind of moral issues involve inaction when players weren’t charged with crimes. “How dare Michigan not preemptively punish these olayers”

I can't stop laughing at the pretending the Michigan is the only school ever to self impose some kind of softish penalty on themselves to get the NCAA not to go as hard on them when they come down with their decision. Pure comedy.

Very few schools, if any, have self imposed post season bans.

This is bullshit lol, especially when it comes to basketball.

Hell you can find multiple examples in the last decade

Arizona, LSU & Auburn all "self imposed" postseason banned themselves in the 2020-2021 season.

amongst others.

Louisville

Syracuse

Northern Colorado

Southern Miss

Cal State Northridge

Im positive there are more but these are the ones I was able to find proof of with a quick google.

Hell Ohio State self imposed a tournament ban in Thad Matta's first year (04-05) because of the Jim O'Brien shit.

But yea, Michigan is a pillar of integrity for doing what multiple others have done to also avoid stricter NCAA action :pound: :pound: :pound:
