Fully expect UGA to lose 5-10 after the CFP, but these numbers are amazing.

UF, LSU are cleaning house. A bit surprised by Arkansas but they were adding a lot of players last offseason. Guess the only real surprises are aggy and Bama.. Jimbo is in his 5th year and they are losing depth. Saban is losing depth too but he reloads so much, gotta give him the benefit of the doubt. Wonder how many will enter once the bowl game finish?
that's depth.. it can hurtIf you do the research (this isn't just SEC either), most of the transfers are 2nd or 3rd stringers that want to start somewhere. The smaller schools may have transfers that are good and want to move up.

Pruning the tree is fine..actually goid for it if done correctly. I was told pruning has to be done judiciously and timely or the tree dies.UF, LSU are cleaning house. Mostly true. But I had some fruit trees that had gotten completely out of hand so I finally went out there and chopped the living shit out of them to get them back to a size I wanted. Or I could have fiddled a few years doing it like a pro and hoped everything turned out right. After I thought about it I decided I didn't want to waste years on "maybe". I butchered them and gave them 1 year to give me the fruit I wanted or else I was taking them completely out and replanting. Either way I would have fruit 3-4 years down the road. One tree called my bluff and ended up in the wood chipper. The other two are coming around. It's the same thing with a football program; sometimes you need to burn it to the ground and eat a bad year or two to get things right. OU should have done some serious pruning years ago and we didn't. Now look at us.Pruning the tree is fine..actually goid for it if done correctly. A&M losing basically a whole recruiting class worth of players is classic.
Is this all just a euphemism for how you handle upper management in your company?Mostly true. This could be a good thing when it comes to NIL. I hope other coaches and programs see that all the money A&M spent to get a great recruiting class, only for them to transfer out after one year and go elsewhere. The realization of how much money could be spent only for an unsuccessful season and at the end of it those you paid for end up leaving anyways.A&M losing basically a whole recruiting class worth of players is classic.

Maybe the way to keep NIL at bay is if these programs realize it isn't worth just buying recruits. Or this just means some sort of "contracts" will be put into place, like here is 250k but you have to stay 2 years at the school.
Then I hope more and more programs start to either offer far less money, knowing they may get screwed in the end, or simply NIL doesn't grow any further to where it's just simply outrageous. Maybe this is an eye opening moment to realize how dangerous of a game NIL can be for programs and coaches and that paying for a recruiting class may not be the best thing.Good luck with that. I'm sure the vast majority will refuse such contract and any school trying to throw them out will get shunned.
That same guy (my grandfather) also said when the rats have taken over the barn you just have to burn it completely to the ground in order to be sure you got rid of all of them.Mostly true. Sometimes in acquisitions. If a company is sick then it's got to be for a reason. Maybe its pricing structure is fractured, maybe its product line is stale, maybe its employee relations are poor, maybe its senior management just flat sucks........................... When it's a management issue we have no qualms about professionally identifying what/who is the root of the problem(s) and then fixing what is required. By the way, if you really want to know what's going on in a company go visit with the secretaries and administrative assistants; they can tell you stuff, both good and bad, that you will never find out talking to managers/officers. I've lost track of the number of secretaries and AA's we have promoted because they were under employed in companies. And believe me, when they get their shot at management they are some of the best you will ever see.Is this all just a euphemism for how you handle upper management in your company?
Especially the wood chipper part.

what people discuss isn't NIL.. NIL is for the player to market and cash in using their name and image. These contracts that people throw out there is basically a bag to get these kids to commit.. and they have to stay to recieve it all. Then I hope more and more programs start to either offer far less money, knowing they may get screwed in the end, or simply NIL doesn't grow any further to where it's just simply outrageous. Maybe going for commits who aren't about NIL and are still about the school they play for and the teammates they play with is the perfect ingredient to success.
Yeah, I know that I was referencing that most teams won't miss their transfers but Texas A&M is definitely the exception. They are a sinking ship.
Right or wrong. This is what NIL was always going to be. There's no way to only allow players to make money off their likeness without schools/booster sending brag bags to recruits legally. At this point, it is what it iswhat people discuss isn't NIL.. NIL is for the player to market and cash in using their name and image. Collectives is the only sure way that you elevate the floor for players.. If you are an OL at UT.. you get 50K every year through the pancake factory..
CFC (Clark Field Collective) is paying out every scholarship player a set amount of money across all sports.
NIL is deals are like the ones Bijan did with lamborghini or Cane's Chicken and of course that Mustard co.
Quinn Ewers got his money from an autograph company who gambled that he was going to be a superstar (still selling his stuff high and UT fans are buying it).. But he legit has NIL deals with Wrangler and Sonic.. that's not contract stuff that some players are reportedly getting offered out of high school to join a certain school
