I think I’m losing interest in college football at a rapid rate

I blame the mega conferences
They should do it like premier league soccer, other than the pts crap to determing champ.

1 Mega conference of 20 teams. Bottom 4 relegated to tier 2 every year, top 4 from t2 advances.

T1 plays a 12 game season all vs other t1 teams, no more FCS crap (for top teams), top 2 at seasons end play for the championship. The rest can fight over the bowls.

Top 20 programs going back through the BCS era until now will be your first T1.

Too many cowards to face that kind of schedule year in and year out though.

I like the idea of promotion/relegation, but not sure it works with the way CFB is scheduled. Teams have games on the books for several years sometimes, be hard to do that every season

Oh for sure. There would be hoops to jump through, toes to step on and feelings to hurt.

Yeah, Murphy, Cherokee, Franklin and Maggie Valley are super liberal.
when people think of western NC they think of Asheville and Boone, tubby. Murphy, Cherokee, Franklin and Maggie Valley are guilty by association.

lay off the pork biscuits and hit the weights, because you ain't ready lil man

My interest is waning but it has more to do with the portal and NIL. I'm not giving up on the sport but when you have players putting themselves on the auction block and 10 players a year going into the portal then recruiting has become a shit show.

I think the portal can be fixed by setting distinct windows and the number of times a player can transfer (there is a former Auburn QB that is about to transfer for the 4th time and that is ridiculous).

NIL is only going to be fixed when we start putting these kids under contract paying them a salary and locking them down more. Once you do that then the NIL money won't be as much of a factor. I hate to say it but the only reason to "stabilize" college football is to make it a semi-pro league at this point.

I'm going to be interested if any of these players get nailed for tax evasion because we all know there are going to be plenty that try not to claim the NIL money and when the 1099s come it is going to be a shocker and the money will be spent.
I THINK I’m leaning towards making the players acquire at least a two year degree before being eligible for the portal.
I admit I haven’t thought about downsides to that but… I’m leaning that way as far as demanding it from the NCAA.
Thoughts?

Can't do that but you can say if you transfer before getting an AA degree you have to sit a year before you can play again. ..

4 year schools don’t offer 2 year degrees so it would have to be a credit hour rule.

I’m not sure that is the way to go. Give them one free transfer then they have to sit a year and they have to use defined portal windows.

Pretty much anything is boring when you already know what the outcome is going to be before it even starts

The same 6 teams are the only teams who have a legit shot to win the title every year

It's looking like JT Daniels will become the first to play for 4 different FBS teams.

Is there a chance to win a natty?

Is there any benefit to the player?

What do you say to them when they get hurt and their draft stock falls and they lose millions?

You gonna cover that lost income for them?
All credibility lost when you used the word, "natty."

Oh. So not meaningless to you, and to Vegas.

Except...still meaningless to the player and his future.
So by that logic, out of conference games are also meaningless, & so are conference games once a team can no longer play for a championship. Got it! Might as well just end college football.
