2023 Recruiting Thread

Oregon sounds like they're going to get Duce on campus before he commits. Sounds like a long shot but the program has some momentum on the trail right now.
That's a scary thought ... as well as you closed, the NIL will be there. West coast pull.

Where you lose out, I hope, is that he wants to play baseball. Typically that would favor UGA, UT and USC.

But you guys closed better than anyone else, so that's good news for you.

Over the last several years, Oregon has had just as good, if not better, baseball program than UGA and USC.

Oregon or Oregon State? I know OSU is really good, I was not aware that Oregon was.

Oregons had a solid team over the last few years. NCAAT team that has been in the top 25 at times. Not anything special but not horrible

So last year A&M lands 9 of the top 28 recruits and Saban loses his shit about bought players and NIL ruining the game. This year Bama lands 11 of the top 28.

Guess now that he has caught up on how to play the game he will be fine with this?

Not on OSU level. But a regional team most years and contender for making supers.

But I wouldn’t say UGA has been really good either. And especially not USC

We all dodged a bullet that he's not seen as a top 25 draft candidate (he's not even top 100). If he were top 25, he would likely go pro.

We had a kid at our high school who was ranked as the no. 64 CFB player. He was drafted 15th and got about $4 million to sign with the Angels. He took the money, as he should have.

Duce won't have that choice, it appears. Could have a great senior year and that could change, but does not appear to be so.

There’s two blue chip TEs in this class. I doubt he comes here
He's not your typical TE. He's more of a hybrid TE/WR. Think of Kyle Pitts. He's also told the staff he doesn't mind that we have 2 coming in this class already.

Is there any explanation on the Bowen craziness besides

Be interesting to see how many of these kids are in the same place their junior year.

Apparently mom wants nothing to do with Oregon.. the staff tried to talk to her yesterday and she wouldn't even entertain them.

Dad was cool with Oregon as was son.. Mom WANTED ND

ou is the compromise school

We have a smoking gun about players at A&M who aren't in the portal but were contacted by a school. Not NIL, not a booster, but a coach. So he's right.

So nothing to do with playing with his best friend, his brother in the future, and his girlfriend?

Mom seems smarter than the dad.

not only that but word is he called Marcus Freeman to see if his spot was still there.. and it's not..

But sure ou was where his heart is at cause his bro and his soon to be wife are going there.. which is why they didn't even have a hat on the table..

lol.. glad we got the better player in Williams and don't have to deal with that drama

Regardless he is the #13 player in this class and if he ends up at OU he turned down a ton of money to go there. I think he wanted OU all along and chose Oregon knowing he wouldn't send in his NLI hoping OU would match and also to shut mom up about ND.

Edit: It's a done deal now Peyton Bowen is OU's 3rd 5*
