Don’t understand how a head coach doesn’t make the players touch the ball to the field goal post before putting it down, or some other such contrivance. Happens way too often

It’s more the decision to go for it before half instead of making it a 1 point game, then using a TO that gave Alabama time to score TD before half. Should have been 14-13 Bama at half instead of 21-10. That led to onside kick after half that blew game open. It’s a series of bad choices. Kicking field goal they’re assumed would not give up more points which didn’t happen. Either way it didn’t matter at that point because Bama scored a TD
