Sam Hartman Transfers To Notre Dame

I didn't even know Hartman was in the portal as I haven't seen his name mentioned anywhere. I'm not sure why he isn't just declaring for the NFL because he would have to think he would be 4 or 5 maybe higher. I'm not sure his stock can go up anymore.

This one just surprised me.
He will probably make more staying at ND from NIL than he will in the NFL. He doesn't have great arm strength, he is only 6'1" (by WF standards, most likely shorter) and he played in an offense where his stats were padded by a ton of shorter throws.

I read an article about him after the season and it said he struggles going thru progressions and dealing with traffic in the middle of the field. That will get much worse at the next level.

I think he will fall into the good college QB -- scraping by to hold a clipboard in the NFL.

He announced before the bowl he wouldn’t be retuning to WF. Whether that meant the draft or transferring we didn’t know but not long after, rumors of him coming to ND were popping up even before he entered the portal.

His stats were not padded by shorter throws. They aggressively push the ball downfield.

But no, he doesn’t have a very strong arm. And comes from a very unconventional offense. Not much of an nfl prospect at this point.

Confirmed tampering.

its pretty obvious that nobody here has actually watched Hartman play with the exception of us and maybe @Illustrious Potentate

he has a strong football IQ, a weak arm and has played with a strong WR group since he's been in college. he has also played in a system that has not produced a bad QB yet. i am interested to see how Hartman will do in another offense.

and yes, Hartman won't play a down in the NFL.

and fwiw, i hope Mitch Griffis is more mobile than Hartman. i preferred watching Wolford + Newman in the RPO b/c they could actually make plays with their legs

Without a doubt. Its an unconventional offense that may hurt his draft stock, which is why I'm very interested in what he can do next year.

But the "shorter throws" comment killed me. Never watched a game of his. Maybe would have thought he watched the Clemson-Wake game this year. Where he absolutely killed Clemson deep all game. It was the worst I've ever seen the Clemson secondary in my life.

I just assume the next Wake QB will be a good college QB until proven otherwise.

Jamie Newman got some terrible advice when he opted out of the 2020 season to focus on the draft though

lmao, i actually am Catholic
Since we have now established that you hate yourself and it is causing you to lash out indiscriminately let's start working on a more healthy life plan. When those demons of self-loathing get into your head just pause and remember you are in control and those negative thoughts don't define you.

No. He was slated to start the ‘93 season and got hurt in preseason. McDougal was supposed to be his backup.
What are you a fan or something?

Of Powlus? He was okay. Problem was he came in when a big chunk of the talent was drafted away and he used to only lock onto Derek Mayes too much. He definitely couldn’t live up to the hype. But he was going to start in ‘93.
