Man the SEC Sucks

If you are a fan of an SEC program that won a bowl game you can brag. However the losers need to take a hike.

Depends on a lot of factors but it is possible.

I mean anything is possible, i'd say it's not likely though.

Michigan woulda been the team theyd have the best chance to beat given how they played. Then TCU being next

I really don't think there's much of a chance they woulda beat UGA or Ohio State though.

Does this apply to Arkansas as well? They beat fucking Kansas, in multiple overtimes.

I know a guy who was a Arkansas fan and he was legit BRAGGING about it as a "I told you so" about Arkansas being a "good" team

Arkansas was a good team that had a bad season kind of like Maryland with B1G.

I will give Arkansas a pass, especially because refs were very bad that game. Honestly, Ohio State got hosed by not getting that targeting call.

We are still a growing program. Imagine Georgia in the first couple of years with Kirby Smart or Ohio State when they first got Day. We had aberrations like the South Carolina game because we are still an immature and growing program. This is why I like Tennessee's chances better if they are underdog. The narrative matters. I think Ohio State played one of its best games because of the chip on the shoulder mentality you guys had going into the game with everyone saying you didn't belong. Give us that ammo and we could win. Frankly, Ohio State should have won.

as an objective observer.. SEC although flawed is the best conference right now. I do think Big12 and the Big are tied for #2

I can agree to that. SEC isn't some unstoppable force, it has flaws but general the SEC tends to have a few more title contenders each year. Can't wait to see Oklahoma and Texas in the league.

Edit: SEC fans can't brag about Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and LSU but discount Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Florida.

Ive said it before but Ohio State has NEVER had one "close" targeting call go our way. They always favor the other team.

Hell the only targeting I can even think of that's ever benefited us was the dirty hit by the Clemson LBer, but that was so blatant they could not have called it any other way.

We keep getting screwed on holding calls. Watch our games this year and see how many times offensive linemen wrapped around our defensive line when they got beat and there was a no call. It happened several times in the Clemson game.

We got raped on reviews in that 2019 season Clemson playoff game was well. The fumble TD that was overturned that woulda essentially won us the game was almost criminal.

Going back to 2020, Ohio State threatened to join the SEC for a year if the league didn't play (with Nebraska who was the other big proponent to play). You guys probably play in a weaker league but you have my respect. I would have loved to see Ohio State in SEC for a year. I think you would hold your own. Everyone takes Ohio State seriously, we just don't take teams like Indiana seriously.

Back to this, there seems to be a new line of thinking now that Targetting "has to be a hit to the head" which I believe is 100% untrue but some officials seem to carry this line of thought.

Joey Bosa got ejected for targeting in the fiesta bowl vs Notre Dame for drilling the ND QB in the chest.

This is why the rule just needs to go unless it's like a blatant dirty hit. We have unsportsmanlike conduct penalties for stuff like that though. But targeting in no way is called consistently at all and different officials clearly interpret it differently.

did bosa lower his head and hit him with the crown of his helmet?

I mean Clemson punted on the next play and OSU scored a TD on the next drive anyway. Now lets talk how OSU lost that lead in the 4th ...

evidence that may be presented in this thread: SEC losses

I don’t see where the B1G has anything past tOSU and Michigan. You could make a case for Penn State.

UGA & Bama are the top
LSU & UT are behind them

When Auburn, aTm and Florida are in the bottom of your league there is a lot of upside.

All 3 of those teams were horrible in 2022 though.

The "these teams were good once" logic is nice, but it's not fact in the current time.

We aren’t talking about Nebraska here. Auburn and Florida have national championships in recent times and if you don’t think they will get their shit together and make runs then you’re mistaken.

Florida isnt Nebraska but they have been pretty pedestrian since Meyer left outside of a couple of seasons.

Same with Auburn since they went to the BCS title game after the 2013 season. Theyve lost 5+ games in all but 2 seasons since then (and those were 4 loss seasons)

Well I'm damn sure ready for them to. Need some damn variety out of that conference.

I know, I know....LSU in 2019 blah, blah, blah.
