Who is in the top 10?

It's not like he was making big time throws. But his two INT's were the difference maker.
There were like 10 difference makers in the game. If Michigan doesn’t blitz on like 3rd and 17 leading to a 70 yard TD, it changes it.

If Knowles doesn't get recklessly aggressive with his play-calling and sticks to the plan we had for 57 out of michigan's 62 offensive plays, it changes our game. Funny how the "well if's" only work when they're in michigan's favor but they're just flatout excuses for anyone else.

I mean, it really doesn't change your game lol. OSU scored, what, 3 points in the 2nd half? Michigan won that game on the TE TD on the first drive of the second half.

JJ looked awful against OSU outside of 3 long TD passes against horrible coverage calls by Knowles. If Knowles doesn't get carelessly aggressive OSU likely wins.

Saying "if our team and coaches were better throughout the entire game we could have won", while being blown out, is a bit different than calling out a reversed TD that shouldn't have been reversed that would have won Michigan the game in a 6 point loss.

It wasn't throughout the entire game. Honestly we looked great on defense outside of 5 long plays. For 57 out of 62 plays of the game, you guys had 277 yards, That's 4.8 yards per play. Also if CJ hits Xavier Johnson with a pass one second earlier in the 4th in the RZ, he likely scores a TD. Instead the rush got to him and he threw a pick. Just is what it is.

I'm just saying -- Yes, Michigan did everything possible to lose that game (TCU). Two goal line turnovers for one. Two pick sixes for another. That's a 28 point swing right there. But it's hard not to feel disgruntled in a 6 point loss, over a touchdown that should have stayed a touchdown. It's a bit different than a game where you played defense the entire game to stop the run, against a run heavy team, and paid the price for doing it. The original notion that had Cade started (though he was injured anyway) we would have won, is silly. The better "what if" is had Corum started, we most certainly would have won. We were still playing Edwards with a broken hand and cast on it.

Shit happens. It's college football. Could say the same thing for OSU against michigan. Clearly we showed vs UGA what we're capable of. It is what it is. Looking forward to 2023, and I'm sure you are too.

Well maybe....we don't know if we have a coach or not lol. We certainly have the key players returning to be good.

What are the prevailing opinions among the fanbase about that Denver interview?

Generally speaking, most people think he'll be back. Some think he's trying to get a contract bump from Michigan by exploring the NFL again. Last year he was telling players and recruits that he was thinking of the NFL, this year he isn't. I think, though, that if he lands some crazy outlandish offer from Denver, he might be gone.

Didn't he get a pay bump last year?

Didn't he get a pay bump last year?
Yes....but it is still way lower than many coaches, even in just the B10. After 2020 he took the pay cut down to like 4.5 or 5 million (something like that). Then after 2022 it bumped him to 7 million, and it goes up a bit each year he's here. I think it's 7.5 million for 2023. but with Tucker making 10 million and day making 9.5 million, he's well below the top threshold.

2-4 is weird. I feel like Ohio State should definitely be above TCU based on what we saw last night, but you can't put michigan ahead of TCU and probably can't put OSU ahead of michigan.

Ya, strangest year in awhile.

Sam Webb this morning,

Contract talks have unquestionably taken on a more business-like tone with the involvement of agents in the process this time around.

A salary increase has always been a given, the question is, how much? Sources with knowledge of the negotiations informed me that Warde Manuel had been reluctant to move up in the $10+ million range in salary. Sources could only speculate whether that was a matter of principle or a negotiation tactic. Whatever the case, sources say that a significant increase in salary is now on the table, but so too is a significant increase in Harbaugh’s buyout amount. One high enough to virtually eliminate the possibility of future NFL dalliances, which may have been Manuel's goal from the start.

....so it sounds like they're in the process of trying to balance salary vs. buyout.

My guess is Denver will give him $10m if they actually want him. That seems to be how things are trending in the NFL nowadays. Day at $9.5m makes sense but that Tucker contract is such a joke. Can't imagine michigan will pony up $11m+ will they?

Some crazy numbers being floated around were $20 million. If he gets offered $20 million to coach in the NFL I think he's gone.

Prob not. Football isn’t the schools priority like it used to be. Partly why he wants out (I’m assuming).

University of Michigan’s diversity programs will cost taxpayers $18M this year
