IMO, CJ Beathard. I think Kinnick was considered a RB, even though he did play some QB.
He led Iowa to a 12-0 season and lost in the CCG on the very last play where inches mattered. We don't need to talk about the Rose Bowl.
Iowa may not have had a tough schedule, but Iowa didn't really have the most talented offense. Canzeri and Leshun Daniels were okay RBs. Kettle was a Jr. Blythe was the only notable OL. Tavaun Smith was a good WR but nothing special.
Also, CJ played most of the season with a pulled (or maybe torn, can't remember) groin muscle and at times had trouble standing straight.
That is my argument for CJ Beathard. One that is very close for me is Brad Banks.
Probably Drew Tate. Older than me would say Randy Duncan.

I think Tate had the most exciting attitude and probably the best field general, but I thought he was too much of a gun slinger for me to consider the best under Ferentz.
