What’s the point of non alcoholic beer?

NA Beer is for recovering alcoholics that just can't let it go.

I would suspect that people who use NA beer as part of their recovery don’t stay in recovery very long.
my searches show that it is not a good idea...it's a slippery slope to rely on NA to get you through it.

I always have some NA beers in my fridge. Sometimes I just want a couple beers and don't want to get drunk. If I drink regular beers, I usually don't stop until they are gone.

If I wanted a beer and drank a NA beer to satisfy that craving, I’d probably want an actual beer even more afterward.
I have friends who will drink them from time to time but I am not all that sure why...

one is an alcoholic and drinks them...he is not a good drunk so something is better than nothing I guess

I had a buddy who drank diet Mountain Dew every single day. Lost touch w him when he was already pretty lumpy. No surprise to find out he’s a total whale now only a few years later.

A few years ago NA beer helped me cut down on the amount I drink by quite a bit. At the time I was drinking at least 12 beers a day during the week and who knows how many on weekends.

I had to retrain my body and mind, so I started drinking NA beers and then switched to regular beers throughout the afternoon/night. So, I'd have a few NAs, then beer. Cut my drinking down to a sixer a day on weekdays.

Now I'm down to just a few every weekday night ... but I still drink enough to kill most people on weekends.

I drink at least a quart of shine most every day. More on Fridays and Saturdays

I had to retrain my body and mind

I’ve had to do this a few times after injuring various body parts working out. I guess we all have stuff that kicks our asses from time to time.
