EPL 2022/2023

Spurs back in Top 4. Watch out for Liverpool. Newcastle can’t score. Heading for Europa or lower.

Interesting Pope will miss League Cup final next week vs Man U. I don’t like it. A red card in EPL carries over to League Cup.

Graham Potter still have a job lol.

Is Tim Ream the best American footballer right now? Might win EPL defender of the year. Forget Tyler Adams. Dragging Leeds into relegation.

A week or so ago, “they” were saying now Man City going to win EPL. Now after today Arsenal up 5 points on Man City with same number of games played. Season is a marathon as Arteta said recently,

What an incredible performance by Liverpool and dismal by Man U. What an absolute beat down of epic proportions! Wow!!

Uh wtf Liverpool. Basically it looks like you beat Bournmouth and lost to Man U. Great for Spurs this result.

Ok can't help it, but it is funny:

Crazy stat: Liverpool have had aggregate scores of 9-1 against Bournemouth and 8-2 against Manchester United this season and won one and lost one against each.

Man U to Liverpool....hold our beer.

Spurs choke. Newcastle right back in the UCL hunt with Man U, Liverpool, Spurs teetering. Top 2 done and dusted but spots 3 and 4 are going to be down to the wire.

Conte throwing everyone under the bus. I think he wants to get fired now. He is going to lose the locker room if has not already.

Yep. Spurs had a 3-1 lead vs the worst team in the league and threw it away. Conte is at his wits end.

Everyone knew his stay at Spurs wouldn't be long term. But, they finished last season so strongly it was hard to see him or the team struggling so much this year. The "bring back Poch" keyboard army has been out in full force.

Conte supposedly getting sacked today.

Pretty sure he's just fed up and wants to leave. He's obviously trying to get fired so he can get the payout. Pretty sure if he just quit, he'd get very little if anything.

Frankly, im surprised its taken this long.

There is no doubt.

I'm not an "Enic out" guy, I think they've done a phenomenal job with the club overall. Incredible stadium, training grounds, etc. Sparkling finances. It's all great. They built an incredible foundation for the club to grow upon.

However, Levy (and Enic by association) have also hired win-now managers in Mourinho and Conte but not provided them with the players or necessary backing those managers need to actually win now. IMO, those managers need around $300M per season b/t the summer and winter transfer windows to succeed on the level they're used to. Spurs can afford to do about 1/2 that so what you get is this mismatch of managers who want to play a certain style or are used to working with a certain level of player but having to make due with what they've got. Levy and Enic have forgotten Spurs real identity and for that they must take the blame.

The irony is I fully believe the club has done all of this to appease their best player and convince him to stay, but selling him on and continuing the long term project they started with Poch would have probably been the best course of action. Now they're faced with doing that all over from scratch anyhow.

I'm guilty of the same thing Levy and Enic are to an extent. Kane is like Dirk to me. I desperately want him to be a 1-club guy and desperately want Spurs to win something big with him. But, continuing to try to structure the team into a pseudo win-now club to appease the star player rarely works out in the long run.
