@WhosYourDawggy, I hope you are happy lol...

Yeah, to say UGA's schedule is soft is a little harsh as it isn't Georgia's fault. I also meant to say separate "plane" and not "plan" although that might be true as well lol.

So why is it unfair to call out scheduling UT Martin, Ball St, and UAB?

I mean, a D2 and 2 bottom end G5 schools? I'll give em G-Tech because rivalries are important and should continue. This could be fixed by having 9 conference games.

Where is AG and his breakdown of the number of P5 the SEC plays compared to other conferences lol.

I would say that is fair but is that any worse than other teams? UGA had Oregon last year.

Tennessee has weaker OOC but our overall schedule is more challenging thanks to having Alabama on our schedule annually (along with Georgia).

I think having 10 P5s should and 2 G5s is how it should be.

We had @OU scheduled and the SEC made us cancel it. That's why we got Ball State at the last minute.

Discussed before: https://hooplanation.com/threads/ugas-2023-schedule-b2b2b-is-on.19743/

You still have to win them all. Last year:

1st - https://sagarin.com/sports/cfsend.htm
1st - Massey Ratings - College Football : FBS Ratings
1st - NCAA College Football Strength of Schedule Rankings & Ratings
3rd - ELO Strength of Schedule (SOS) - FBSCollege Football | WarrenNolan.com
8th - 2022 college football: Final top 25 strength of schedule rankings

We'll see how it works out at the end of the year. It's not like we dodge competition.

Since the current Power 5/Group of 5 alignment debuted in 2014, Georgia is the only FBS team to beat teams from all five Power 5 conferences in the same season. The last FBS school to beat teams from at least five major conferences in the same season was 2001 Miami: Big East (its own conference), Big Ten (Penn State), ACC (Florida State), Pac-10 (Washington) and Nebraska (Big 12).

We beat ACC (GaTech), B1G (tOSU), B12 (TCU), and PAC (Oregon).

Georgia had wins over seven teams ranked in the AP’s final top 25 poll.

I think Auburn could be more tricky than they appear in the preseason with Hugh Freeze at the helm.

I think Missouri could be what South Carolina was this year. I don't trust South Carolina. Whenever they get hype, they seem to struggle.

Tennessee will take a step back IMO but still be one of Georgia's toughest opponents.

I would also point out that UGA, specifically, and the SEC in general, are about to get the toughest schedules you could get. Here is an example of our OOC and IC schedules for the years to come:

Out of Conference - OOC

2023 - @OU (canceled by SEC)
2024 - Clemson (Atl)
2025 - @UCLA
2026 - @Louisville, UCLA
2027 - @FSU, Louisville
2028 - FSU, @Texas (canceled by SEC)
2029 - @Clemson, Texas (canceled by SEC)
2030 - Clemson, tOSU
2031 - @tOSU, OU (canceled by SEC)
2032 - Clemson
2033 - @Clemson, NCState
2024 - @NCState

Starting in 2024, In Conference schedule - sample every other year 3-6-6 schedule (with the Nerds thrown in):

@Auburn, Florida, @Kentucky, GaTech | Alabama, @Oklahoma, Texas A&M, @Ole Miss, Mizzou, @South Carolina
Auburn, @Florida, Kentucky, @GaTech | @LSU, Texas, @Tennessee, Miss State, @Vandy, Arkansas
@Auburn, Florida, @Kentucky, GaTech | @Alabama, Oklahoma, @Texas A&M, Ole Miss, @Mizzou, South Carolina
Auburn, @Florida, Kentucky, @GaTech | LSU, @Texas, Tennessee, @Miss State, Vandy, @Arkansas

We would then have to win the SEC Championship game against the other top 2 in the SEC, and then 3-4 games against top 12 opponents.

Not concerned a bit about our OOC schedule this year.

FCS is not D2

Well part of my chat stated that the reason Georgia's schedule is easier is because they don't play Georgia.

Tennessee (one of the teams being compared to Georgia schedule-wise since they are, on paper, the greatest challenger to Georgia in the SEC East) has to play both Georgia and Alabama.

Georgia can't help that other teams have to play Georgia and they don't play themselves (well they do play themselves in Spring so maybe their schedule is tougher).

One of the true tragedies when he left.

We were robbed.
