. Love the rules that sped up baseball. Despise this move

I always liked that the clocked stopped. Thought it was a cool twist to the college game.

games are very long but if the commercials are still in place.. still gonna be long.. LOL My Longhorns needed this the last two seasons in the second half lol

Never made any sense to me.

Now fix overtime.

Agreed, so many great finishes were because of the clock stoppage.

Part of what made CFB so great was the sport’s uniqueness. It wasn’t really comparable to other college sports and it wasn't really 'NFL-lite'.

Well, I guess that's over now. Curious to know what genius came up with this brilliant idea.

Also bring in the hash marks.

Speeding up baseball in a 162 game season makes sense. There are plenty of games and the season is like 9 months long. Speeding up the precious sacred game of football? Not great at all. We are only gifted 12-14 games of college football a year. A short 3.5 month of games to watch. We shouldn't be shortening this product.

amen

we should have four thirty minute quarters or play until the losing team's OL all pass out due to dehydration

IMO it became "NFL-lite" with NIL and the transfer portal more than this rule change or anything else. Hell, the pros can't hop from team to team to the extent college players can with the portal.

Now that I've popped off this may sound real hypocritical. But I'm glad the players are finally getting some of the gravy. If they weren't generating so much money I'd understand them not getting a part of it. And I'm for them being able to transfer, but.............

It will still stop on 1st downs in the final 2 minutes of each half.
Won't it stop if the player goes out of bounds after making the first down? It'll be just like any other play that doesn't result in a first down, right?
