Not sure this is good for CFB as ESPN helped build this sport. Sure they have MAJOR issues but I would hate to see the network go under.

They are a machine.. they can drop talent, producers and back fill them in with new faces and keep rolling. Has anyone really missed anyone that left in the past layoffs?

True but the continual lost of money is concerning... Sure a lot of people don't like ESPN and their views, even I question it. However, it is nice to tune into ESPN on Saturdays and get Gameday, televised games, etc.

I feel like one of ESPN's mistakes was the ESPN Plus membership that hide their articles under a fee. Most people, myself included, just didn't read the articles because we didn't see it worth the fee.

if anything, Disney is losing money, not ESPN like that.. Live sports are still valuable. I think the Marvel division has been taking losses as well as disney plus.

ESPN will be fine

These other divisions are losing money, definitely, but ESPN is bleeding Disney even more than the other divisions. I think only LucasFilms maybe doing worse from Entertainment side.

ESPN is definitely rumored to be at the top of ESPN's chopping block for selling off.

Marvel is getting really stagnant, and let's be honest, if it wasn't for The Mandalorian, would anyone be subscribing to Disney Plus?

Disney is getting ready to layoff another 7,000 people across the board... ESPN included. But ESPN should still be in decent shape, for the time being.

they been wanting to do this for awhile.. these layoffs are just taking fat off a payroll. They will be fine.. they have a valuable exclusive deal with the SEC for football, MNF still is one of the highest rated NFL games, weekly.

Just wait til they offer ESPN to streamers/cord cutters that don't involve HuluTV or YoutubeTV.

You think Fox is itching to take away that inventory? Hell they sold it's RSN to Disney years ago.

honestly that's the only show we watch on Disney plus..other than movies that arrive there

100% i watch a handful of shows on Disney+

The WWE cuts employees on the regular and Vince just sold it for $21B. As in billion.

Cutting payroll isn't a concern the network is going under.

ESPN has a lot of contracts/assets that are very valuable and bring in money. Unless they get spun off to someone stupid like Diamond Sports Group who immediately takes them off cable/streamers without any direct to consumer option, ESPN is going to be fine.

Chris Fowler just got a raise on top of his already $3mil/year contract. Can't be hurting too badly.

Article said the raise was cut unless I am reading it wrong.

Are you talking a year? If not what the heck are you watching? They basically have a decent show one at a time and sometimes that is debatable. She-Hulk and Ms. Marel were meh, the best things they've had were Andor and the Mandalorian.

If it weren't for Marvel and Star Wars there would be nothing to watch.

I didn't pull the trigger but I thought about getting Disney+ at one time to watch a lot of their classic shows from 90s and early 2000s. You have that.

What shows are you talking about Lizzie McGuire or Hannah Montana? You aren't seriously wanting to watch those are you?
