So, my online legal eagles... riddle me this:
I received an email notice from the property manager about a rent increase earlier this week: $400/month. Boo! Hiss! Throw tomatoes! I know! But when I open the attachment to sign said booshit doc, it indicates a $200 increase. So I'm thinking, "dumbass! I'm only gonna pay the additional 2 bills come August!" So in my usual fashion, I put it off a bit and last night, I receive a "corrected" version via docusign. Le sigh
she was on to my dastardly plan and foiled it. And since I know that docusign is a snitch, I didn't open it until this morning.
Well, well, well... the document not only says $200, but it's pushed out to September (90 day laws or someshit, i'm assuming)! So the question is... when I only pay the smaller increase and they say, "but we said it was 400!!" am i within my legal rights to tell them to eat a bag of smashed assholes and raise it again next year if they don't like it or can they say, "but we meant $400?"
