Top 10 Favorite Horror/Thriller Movies

I googled this just in case it was something I didn't know about lol.

Yeah, I am not a big NoES fan. Freddy is one of the most iconic slashers though. Interesting that you have the Terminator on there, I was talking with some guys on the SH a month or so ago about that and whether they thought it was horror as well.

All the others are just solid classics.

Thanks for catching the typo.

IMO, The Terminator is more of a thriller than a horror, which is why I included it. I wouldn't have it on an exclusive horror list.

Same as the others. These are not necessarily the movies I think are the best, but ones that I enjoy quite a bit for one reason or another. Probably catch a lot of flack for having some of these on here and not others, but oh well. I just really enjoy watching these.

10. Hereditary

9. Halloween 2018

8. Frailty

7. 1408

6. Alien

5. Halloween

4. The Conjuring 2

3. Se7en

2. The Conjuring

1. The Thing

Difficult narrowing it down, I thought about Silence of the Lambs, Bone Tomahawk, The Descent, The Shining, Evil Dead, Cabin in the Woods, The Fly, Get Out, Nightmare on Elm Street, A Quiet Place, and many more, but for one reason or another, I just enjoy watching these more whenever they are on... or after a while, I find myself turning to these to rewatch more often.

#1 should be Nebraska in the 4th quarter driving for a win....

I’m too lazy to rank them rn. Might’ve forgot a few, idk.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)
The Blair Witch Project

Dawn of the Dead (2004)
Cabin in the Woods
The Silence of the Lambs

If you haven't seen the most recent Texas Chainsaw movie, I definitely recommend it. Think it came out in 21 or 22, but it's definitely entertaining.

I don’t think the conjuring is worthy of these lists. Maybe I have to watch it again. It had a camp/cheese element I didn’t like

The Invitation (2016) gets an honorable mention.

Wait wait wait… Children of the Corn

Just rewatched it to make sure. It’s pretty bad.
Bad acting. Bad directing.
Actors acted modern even though it’s set in the 70s I guess.
Character reactions are weird. There’s a daughter missing, and dad is just passively standing around, and ghost hunters are looking for a UV light.
It’s just disjointed and weak.

Some of you guys listed movies that aren't even horror movies.

Se7en is a crime thriller, not horror.

Se7en,The Snowman and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo are crime/ mystery movies.......which I actually thought, but thought they could of been thriller movies.....but guess not.

Instead add Children of the Corn,Sinister and Cabin in the Woods.....

Y'all really need to check out The Changeling with George C Scott.
