Titantic Claims 5 more?

This sub is being steered by a $30 controller and you think they've invested in some sort of basic safety technology?
Well if not lol at the rich morons who paid $250k for something my kids would have designed if they were asked to make a submersible craft.

Idk I mean this is about how horrific of a death as one could suffer but like....no one forced them onto an experimental sub rife with safety issues, piloted by a N64 controller and going to the bottom of the ocean. Some Darwin shit there.

"A bunch of other rich people did it, so I have to, too!"

Excerpt from Scientific American article.

"The Titan is a battery-operated watercraft. Given it has lost all contact with its surface vessel, it may have suffered a power failure. Ideally, there would be an emergency backup power source (such as an independent battery) to maintain emergency and life support equipment – but it’s unclear if the missing vessel had any power backup on hand."

Given that nobody at Titan could tell you, I guess that's a big no. These poor fuckers are toast. I guess the CEO on board is no longer proud of saving a few bucks on back ups.

The electrical problem is two AA controller batteries?

Confirmed that they don't have any sort of emergency locator, so it's practically guaranteed that they don't have backup power.

Why this thing wasn't tethered to the mother ship somehow is beyond me.

Could they make a tether cable 2.3 miles long? YES

The longest rope on record was 6 inches in diameter and 24 miles long. It was fabricated in Gibraltar back in 1842.

There's your useless piece of trivia for today. LOL

I haven't seen the newer HBO Westworld series (it's been cancelled), but I remember the Westworld movie (early 70s) starring Yul Brynner as the "Gunslinger" android gone rogue!

:pop2: :martini:
First two seasons are good and then just stop because it goes downhill.

If CNN could film this we would all be watching 24/7 like the OJ Bronco chase.
