The official Michigan Owns Ohio State thread

So you scrape by 3-9 Sparty

Wasn’t close. It was 30-10, UM midway thru the 4Q, MSU scored two tds, the second with :01 left.

and 6-7 Indiana

Instead of an actual QB, UM had some guy named John O’Korn listed under “QB” on their depth chart that day.

you scrape by Wisconsin at home

UM had over twice as many yds & first downs, but their kicker was all lame and shit that day.

you shit the bed against Iowa

Kinnick Stadium is a weird place. Some serious voodoo/bad mojo up in that bitch, esp at night.

I dislike UM as much as the next non-UM fan, but them bitches were f’n solid that year.

Iowa, They lost 5 games, 1 was to North Dakota State a FCS team, they got beat at home by a 7-6 Northwestern team. Only beat Rutgers (2 wins) 14-7 and got throttled in their bowl game by a mundane Florida team.

They werent terrible by any means but they were more below average than their record indicates. No so called 'great team' shoulda lost to that Iowa team under any circumstance

MSU had almost the same amount of yards, 1st downs, TOP, and turnovers. Game's 4 quarters long, it's not like they were up by 50. That wasn't the blowout you're making it out to be.

As opposed to Indiana's QB, Richard Lagow? Who the hell is that guy? Also, O'Korn was a beast his freshman year before idiotically transferring to michigan where his development would, predictably, come to a grinding halt.

You're only talking about a difference of 9 points. If you have over twice as many yards and first downs while the opposing QB is throwing 3 INTs, the game should be way more out of hand. Also, wanna know how "lame and shit" Wisconsin's kicker was? They twice had him punt at the michigan 35 because he couldn't hit a 52 yard FG. As a D1, P5 kicker. There are high schoolers that do that.

The conference title was on the line. That is classic bed-shitting. Iowa was 4-3 at home that season, hardly an impressive team.

O'Korn actually got benched his Sophomore year at Houston after throwing 6 TD/8 INT and only completing 52% of his passes in 6 games. Michigan still brought him in anyways.

Why on earth would we fire Day when he proved he can play with the best in the nation the last time we saw his team on the field? He was a shanked FG away from a very likely national championship.
I hope and pray you never fire Day, because OSU's teams are soft with him as HC and it plays directly into the type of team Michigan has. So I like our chances of keeping the game relevant going forward.

O'Korn was terrible, but he almost beat Ohio State. I didn't think we had any chance in hell in that game.

When did O'Korn almost beat Ohio State? The QB in the 2016 game was Wilton Speight

O'Korn was the QB in the 2017 game, Ohio State won by 11. Same game JT Barrett got hurt in the 3rd and Haskins had to come in.

LMAO well I did not know that but it does make it funnier. Looks like they had a big change in offensive philosophy when Houston's OC left after his freshman year so they switched to Greg Ward. Pretty dumb when Korn did what he did his freshman year but oh well. My point still stands about his development coming to a grinding halt under Harbaugh.

Yes, yes, we're all aware that you think you know more than you do.

It's funny how they forget that Harbaugh's system really didn't work that great for 6 fucking years, Now they act like it's some unstoppable train that will be sustainable forever after 2 years of success.

Well newphone thinks that Knowles is an exact replica of michigan's shitty old DC Don Brown, so now he think he knows exactly how his defense will work the entire time at OSU.

Yep. They think it's impossible for us to get better, in their minds our secondary is automatically going to be as bad as it was last year every year. It's real absurd thinking.

On the flip side they also think its IMPOSSIBLE that Michigan will ever decline back to where they were pre 2021.

It's pretty hilarious to see.

Once again, we will see if all of this is really for real and sustainable next year once Michigan finally loses a ton after this year.

They SHOULD at least win 11 games in the regular season this year. Anything less will be a colossal disappointment no matter how they try to spin it.

He thinks that with Knowles we're either stacking 10 in the box/running an all-out blitz or playing prevent. Apparently there's no in-between.

Michigan will decline in 2024 when they lose the majority of their starters. I have no clue how they will be in 2024 and no clue who will even be the QB.

I know UM had 5 or 6 starters who could have left, would have been drafted into the NFL and decided to come back for another year. Blake Corum came back. 1st team all-american came back. Keegan and Zinter were both all-B1G OL and both decided to come back. Kris Jenkins, who they are mocking as a 1st round NFL pick in 2024 is coming back. Michael Barrett -- 3 year defensive starter is coming back. All these guys could have left. Hell -- Cornelius Johnson could have left and he stayed too.

So do I see UM declining? Absolutely. Do I see them declining in 2023? Absolutely not and they will be better than the last two years and it won't be close.

2024 though -- I fully expect to get a beating at the hands of OSU.

Yes, yes, we're all aware that you think you know more than you do.
I will ask you this. Why do you think UM has won the last two years? You think it was luck? We don't have more talent than OSU. We don't have the big number of high end NFL draft picks. So what is it? I'd love to hear why you think UM has handily beaten OSU two years in a row.

Against UM -- yes. They 1000% did not trust your front 7 to be able to handle UM's offensive line.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out. Your biggest weakness last year was your secondary. So OSU's brilliant game plan was to load the box and put their weakest position group and leave them on an island all game in man coverage.

The reason they did that. They didn't do that the year prior and they were pushed all over the field by UMs OL. OSU's coaching staff had ZERO FAITH OSU's front 7 could hold up.

Incorrect. I think Michigan has turn the team around, and we are a legitimate Championship contender. That doesn't mean that the will win the Championship, but it means it won't be shocking if they do. On Michigan's schedule is still ohio state, and ohio state is an excellent team. Upsets also happen. I am not in favor of of throwing out the baby with the bath water.
