The official Michigan Owns Ohio State thread

You're not wrong, especially if they're close in age. It seems like McCord is gonna win the job, so it wouldn't shock me if Brown left, which sucks because I really liked him. If he leaves I just hope he heads back out west.

I don't think McCord did enough in spring to 100% secure the job, even with Brown being out. Will be interesting to see what happens once summer practices start here in a couple of weeks.

Like...to those teams in other conferences like USC and UCLA? Lol
Both of them have their hotshot 5* kids on campus. I figured Utah or Washington would make sense since both of them will be replacing starters after this year.

Marky Mark doesn't give Benz's to backups.

I think Brown would at least stick around for this year and see what happens, no use in a mid season transfer. I mean what if McCord has a big year and goes pro? Then Brown would be in the drivers seat next season.

I'd assume McCord if trying to get out after this year, but what if he decides not to? Now you're right back to the same spot. Plus there's far, far less competition at those other two schools.

You can't do anything right away if you transfer mid season anyway. You might as well take another year of Ohio State development and then seek transfer in the offseason once the portal opens.

Oh I meant I could see him making the jump in the next 6 weeks once the starter is named. Just thinking of the QB room next year if McCord doesn't leave, we'd have him, Brown, Kienholz, and Noland. Definitely one if not two of those guys are out.

Kienholz seems like the type that will at least stick around for a couple of years. I'm really high on him but he really needs at least a couple of years before he's ready to start for a upper level school.

I'd agree. He's a hyper-elite athlete though, so I think she sky is high, but it's far from a guarantee that he'll beat out Noland. Out of the entire group, he could end up being the top dog.

I really don't worry about QB for us at all. If we ever needed to we could snag a top guy in the portal anyway

In 2021, it was a methodic, consistent physical beating from michigan. They were without a doubt the better team that year. Yards/TOP/1st downs were almost exactly equal, but I didn't feel good the entire time. michigan was more physical and clearly was the better team as they moved down the field pretty much at will all day.

2022? Entirely self-inflicted wounds from OSU on both sides of the ball combined with some very flukey plays that went michigan's way. We moved the ball whenever we wanted, had nearly 50% more first downs, and won TOP. Stroud's first INT was a result of him holding on to the ball way too long and should've been an easy first down had he thrown it 2-3 seconds earlier. His second one deflected off Stover's hands right to a michigan defender. Those were back-breakers. Our defensive backfield was banged up (which was evident in a number of games) and what we had out there wasn't good, and we made JJ look FAR better than he actually is (and outside of 3-4 passes, he looked like shit that day).
Why is it you think you had more 1st downs and more TOP in 2022?!?! :wtf: I'd think it would be pretty self explanatory. When a team is scoring on 70 yard runs and passes over and over -- TOP and first downs won't be in your favor, but the scoreboard will. We had 4 touchdown drives that TOTALED 2 minutes 56 seconds.

It is wild how delusional you are. You have an excuse for everything. Why do you think OSU brought their linebackers into the gaps so many times? Why do you think OSU would leave, by far, their weakest position group in single coverage over and over? You think they did that because they believed the front 7 could hold up against UM playing their base defense?

And to sum up the rest of your thoughts on 2022 -- JJ McCarthy got lucky and Michigan's defense had nothing to do with why OSU turned the ball.

I will give you a hint on 2022. If OSU didn't shoot the gaps with the LB's on almost every down -- Michigan would have done the EXACT SAME THING they did in 2021 and run the ball over and over. That's why OSU used the strategy of bringing more guys than Michigan could block.

I do enjoy that we've reduced Ohio State to bragging about number of first downs.

True they should stick to win pct. and nattys since we have been alive.

Even that only slightly favors Ohio State in my case. Michigan is 15-20-1 against Ohio State in my lifetime. Ohio State has two national titles in that span, Michigan has 1. And I did you a solid by including that game voided by your cheating.

It’s so cute the lengths OSU fans will go to try and tell themselves that Jim Harbaugh doesn’t OWN Ryan Day

Interesting note that in my lifetime it's basically been a story of two very long winning streaks by both teams. Michigan was 12-3 vs. Ohio State from 85-00, and then Ohio State went 17-4 against Michigan from 01-22
