Last night I watched two unrelated to OP body cam videos of separate arrests in LaCrosse, WI.
The first video was of a guy who assaulted a parks employee. When the cop tracked down the suspect, the suspect resisted arrest; so the cop had to use force. It happened in front of a large crowd of high class people and the whole crowd was screaming 'police brutality' and one person in the crowd even assaulted the cop while the cop was trying to cuff the suspect.
The second video was a clearly-mentally-deficient guy criminally-trespassed on a residence and barricaded himself in a basement crawlspace and wouldn't come out. There were like ten cops on the scene in this small area trying to get this guy to come out of the crawlspace peacefully. After four hours of bargaining with the guy, they finally gassed him out. For about 40 hours of police manpower burned on this one loon, the suspect was fined $1000 - which he likely will never pay.
Last night, my wife and I agreed that "yeah, we could never be cops and have no idea why anyone would". We also agreed "human euthanasia isn't looking too bad right now".
