Big 12 thread

There have been rumors of Gonzaga and UCONN as basketball only members with UCONN as a full member if the Pac 9-8-7 raid doesn't go through. The thought is at some point conferences will take over running the NCAA tournament from the NCAA and that will generate substantially more revenue from the sport so invest now and get a bigger share when it comes to fruition.

After the Beebee and Bowlsby years it's finally nice to have a commish that is playing chess instead of checkers.

Yeah, and if that happens it's going to suck.

Hell of a CBB league.

College basketball is going the other way though.

Schools like SDSU and FAU and Princeton are not only able to hang with the big boys, but they can beat them and beat them pretty soundly.

Super conferences are being built but nobody cares about conference championships.

From what I heard bad blood with BYU and they will never be in the same conference.
Thats BS if the PAC breaks up they will swallow their pride fast enough.

There is no one else on the bd unless the B12 wants Cal or Stanford. Utah is a no brainer but I could see them offering Cal or Stanford instead of ASU to get in the Cali market.

At this point it’s fuck around and find out for PAC teams. My app would be in the day after Colorado announced.

Curious why they didn't go after Utah first.
No need, they’ll get em if they want em in the end.
Utah doesn’t have anywhere else to go.
CFB fans want Utah and BYU in the same conference for the hate rivalry.
Among the boatload of other screwups the PAC did, not getting BYU as a member when they could have for that rivalry was one of them.

I'm sure that Baylor and TCU will gladly tell Cal "so sorry..."

Cal and Stanford could also possibly do WCC for basketball. That would be a nice conference if that happened.

Also, the WCC just announced it would add water polo for the 23-24 season and Cal owns water polo. Gs up!
