Move B1G championship games to Vegas

Meh. I've always said the "It gets cold in Big 10 country" mantra is way overblown. Yeah it can get brutally cold mid December - March, but the regular season is over by Dec 1st.

You might get some unpleasant weather the last week of November. Typically a cold rain or a rain/snow mix, but that's it. I'd rather play in that than in 90° anyway. Even 80° for that matter.

So one game out of twelve in potential late November inclement weather? pshhh

I don't know how they plan to work the PAC rivalry scheduling, but when USC has played @Notre Dame it's always been mid to late October which is typically perfect football weather. That's sweatshirt and hoodie weather for fans at worst.
The last week of November has always been @USC (Los Angeles).
When USC is @ ND in October they can play UCLA the last week of November.

Whether Oregon/Oregon St or Washington/Washington State will continue to play each other the last week of November has yet to be determined. Maybe they can play those in the OOC season and have Oregon/Washington last week of November.

So USC, Oregon, and Washington are all covered from playing in the Plains/Midwest last week of November. The only question is a UCLA opponent if USC continues to play ND (in Los Angeles) that last week of November.
Yeah, the whole “cold BIG games” is really annoying.

You’re as likely to get a 60 degree day as you are a 20 degree one for the last regular season game. Even up there for the Gophers.

There aren’t games in the winter. And the average difference in temp , at the end of the season, between Seattle and Minneapolis is a little over 5 degrees.

I hope this happens. All the fun of having the in state rivalries the last week is if one team has championship hopes and the other can spoil it. I also don’t know one real fan of either school who hates the in state rival as much as oregon/UW anyway. Move that to rivalry week and move the soon to be completely meaningless in state games to September.

Absolutely.

Utah been owning the Pac in some cold weather with legit defense. Those flashy Pac offenses in cold weather get hit and it stings.

Eh, the weather has little to do with it. Altitude certainly does though.

lol

Yeah, because if there's one thing 18-22 year olds hate...it's travel.
Not only do they hate travel, but it will only favor the legacy Big 10 schools, the new former pac 10 members will only play away games.

Also, as an aside, I’m going back to calling it the Pac 10 now.

How 'bout you take the time to do it?

I'm posting facts with links. You're posting words.

Yeah 50° is "cool". It's sweatshirt and hoodie stuff for the fans.

However, it feels good to football players suited up and running full speed for 4 quarters.

Did you not play high school football on Friday nights Oct/Nov?
I live here. I know what the weather is like. USC players live in LA. They do not know what the weather is. I used to hunt with a group of guys out of Louisiana. It was laughable how many layers those guys put on.

And, yes, I played many cold, Friday notes against other teams that lived the same weather.

Look, the players adapt, possibly, to the weather as the games progresses. However, they are not operating at 100%.

November is a nasty, fickle bitch east of the Mississippi when most of the effect of the Gulf of Mexico loses the battle. Cold, damp and windy. Seattle winters.

It's no different than playing @ Wazzu, Utah, or Colorado that time in the year.

Laughable, comparing those teams to Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan even Minnesota. Utah is dry, dry, dry. I fish high country in Montana and springtime steelhead near or on Lake Michigan. Damp cold is much worse.

SLC gets more than double the amount of snow in November that Madison does.

It also gets more November snow than Minneapolis.

My cousin lives in Eugene and she's a Ducks fan, but will root for the Beavers in the CWS.

Dude, stop it.

Hunters are sitting in a blind, typically at sunrise. Of course they're layered up. They're not out there running full speed for 4 quarters.

The last week of November is NOT winter across the Plains/Midwest.

It's late fall.

And here you go... Written by a Minnesota Gopher fan...

"While there is no doubt that Big Ten football will be played in cooler weather than most games in the SEC, claims that certain Big Ten stadiums will be drastically colder than others are extreme exaggerations at best."

Now do the PAC10, or even just the 4 teams moving to the B1G. Also, one year proves little.

LOL

Just stop.
What? Pointing out that ALL the players are not running around for 60 minutes? Yes, they exert a lot of energy during the action they are part of. The rest of the time they are cooling down.

Let's say TOP is equal. If you play every play on offense, 70 plays lasting 6-8 seconds each. 420-560 seconds of exertion. 7-9.3 minutes.

Why?

So I can see it's warmer in Los Angeles on Nov 27th than it is in East Lansing?

LOL FFS

Are you implying that when a play is over, players are going to immediately start freezing in 38°?

LMFAO!!
