GAME Boise State @ Washington 3:30pm ET ABC

Hell yeah! wasn't feeling great a quarter and a half in, run game is concerning, some of the D is concerning, and I thing our offensive strength exploited their defensive weakness. But in the end won they game like they were supposed to. Feeling just fine about it.
Didn't the Huskies lose their starting running back a few weeks ago?

I won't even try to minimize it, UW looked really good. Better than I expected honestly.

For 2.5 quarters anyway. Penix was a bit off the first quarter and a half and pretty spot on from there on out. Not sure we can say the D is more legit quite yet. No idea if Boise State's O is anything near as advertised until we see a few more of their games.

The negative is their running game was still fairly lackluster and they will need more balance against the other ranked Pac teams. They have a while to dial that in, but at least right now it looked like an area they need to improve on a lot. Sure, they lost their intended #1 RB before the season started, but they have enough depth to be better than they were. Team ending with 78 rushing yards and no one over 50y just isn't going to cut it.

I get it, they have a feature QB that can more than makeup for a lack of running, but if/when they find a solid pass rushing team they will pay a price for not being able to keep the D line honest.

490y passing with 6 TD's and 78y rushing with 2 TD's.

I will however end on one more good note for this squad, they were perfect in the red zone and didn't have to settle for a FG even once. That's encouraging.

Special teams looked good too. Which is great to see week 1.
