PAC & MWC Considering Relegation Model

So if it were last season we would probably see something like

Pac
Oregon State
Fresno State
Boise State
Air Force
Washington State
San Diego State
Wyoming
San Jose State

Moutain West
Utah State
UNLV
Colorado State
Hawaii
Nevada
New Mexico

So then like i said do they go for just the 2 already in FBS G5 Utep and New Mexico State due to proximity?
2 or more teams from the Big West?
North Dakota State with 9 of the last 12 FCS championships?
South Dakota State with the most recent?

This would only affect football though, so are all the schools considered PAC then for other sports?

I've wanted some sort of relegation league setup for a major sport here in the US for a long time, so I love this thought process. Just want to figure out how all it would work.

this actually looks like a fun conference

Interesting. While I see a lot of land mines, I think there would be one very good upside.

I could see the possibility of a lot of late season interest/incentive in some conference games that don't have a lot going for them right now. Bottom half of the upper conference teams having to win in order to hold on to their position. And the upper half of the lower conference teams trying to win in order to work their way into the upper half the next season.

they could do a draft like the WWE did back in the day. Pac2 gets the first pick and so forth.

Well might as well be the first. Eventually all of college football is going to have to do the relegation because there isn’t going to be enough money for every team to getting more money.

But I am on record saying I think the Oregon State/WSU game should be played in Saudi every year, since it looks like we are playing twice next year might as well play one over there.

Going to be funny when the best team in the relegated league gets a team in the playoff while the top flight doesnt have anyone lol.

and for the purposes of all this 2023 would then have Utah State move up and Washington State move down

I love & want it in every conference.

There was a time and a way but it was still very uneven
pairing regionally
Pac-MWC
Big XII-CUSA
BIg Ten- MAC
ACC AAC
Sun Belt- SEC

Big Ten taking UCLA is the mistake of the century

amen

Not necessarily. They are more of a basketball school anyway, but I think those numbers are more a reflection on who they're opponents were. They've played Coastal Carolina, San Diego St. and North Carolina Central. Not exactly "appointment tv". lol

But their biggest impact on the B1G will be during basketball season.

incorrect. San Jose State is the #1 west coast program. the numbers don't lie. The Aztecs are a bigger brand in 2023 than USC and UCLA. time to deal with reality.

Exactly. This is more of a reflection of who these teams have played so far this season.
