Bookie:
$ 10,500.00

The local hotels here in Tuscaloosa really took a “hit” after the Texas loss. A manager at one of the middle tier hotels 15 minutes from campus told me they had to drop their nightly rate to the $700 range this weekend.

Prices for the Texas game were around $1,000-3,000 a night.

That's a potential 77% hit to the local economy in Tuscaloosa all because Nick Saban can't coach up a QB or manage a football game. Pathetic.

I knew i was taking a chance holding on to the Aggie tickets...but if A&M beats Miami and bama/A&M were undefeated.. i would have banked...

now no one wants them.

i was forced to go to a game last weekend because i couldn't even get 30 bucks for 4 tickets.

Guess we learned never to believe aTm hype. Now a smart person would have already known this but I no you have to learn the hard way.

that sucks man, sorry

I think the problem with Tuscaloosa hotels is that they are in Tuscaloosa
That reminds me, it's about time for my area of Florida to start filling up with Yankees, fleeing their Northern snow-covered shitholes, driving in the left lane and being a general nuisance for the next 6 months.

That price gouging for hotels is bullshit anyways. I had to work in Augusta during Masters week for 3 years in a row. First year, I stayed at a roach coach well off the interstate around 50 miles away that still had knobs to turn the tv channel.

Next two, I went about 70 miles towards Atlanta and stayed at the Quality Inn in Madison, GA and it was still 150 per night when it was around 70 normally. The Red Roof I usually stayed at when working in Augusta was charging 750 bucks per night.

Wasn’t my money, but still had to hear the owner bitch about it

i used to say the same thing until i did the math in my head...

my tickets from the ticket office came to be about $85/ticket

3 games are $EC non con games so you know they aren't going for more than 25-30 bucks a piece. I start off losing $600 there.

the 2 of the games are decent conf games but nothing to wow about ill get 50-75 for them. down $800 now

1 game is a good conference game and I got 100 each for them...now im down to about 700 in the hole.

1 game is the granddaddy of them all. 4 tickets for $1000 and I come out around even.

in the very end.

we went to the first 2 games and will go to ACU... sell the rest so we got 3 shit games and went for about $500 total

So Alabama has a bunch of Bandwagon fans? Color me shocked.
We broke them.. hopefully they kept their horns down banners, tees, cups and other memorabilia for the next meeting there.

It really is.. Austin did a little last year when Bama came in, but it was NOTHING like this year.. seedy motels were charging $350 a night lol.. I stayed in a red roof inn plus in Besinger or something.. shady area, room was ok 5 out of 10.. but i got that because it was around $370 for two nights there.

In Austin i got an apt room on congress near the Austin Pizza place.. terrific since it was nothing but young people around.. could walk to bars and had some nice eating spots... in Birmingham there was a Jacks and Burger King..oh and a convenient store that i was offered to purchase some molly pills lol (we used to just call it ecstasy)

All of the local synagogues are excited though!

Same here, man. Same here.

That’s insane. I think my wife, daughter and I flew to Hawaii for cheaper than that.

Guess I won’t be going to many football games the rest of my life if that’s the kind of price you have to pay for a hotel ticket in a college town on game day.

Legalize gambling in Alabama. Build casinos all around Tuscaloosa. Problem solved.
