Ok, it's time to sit down and have a serious conversation here. The #8 Oregon Ducks travel to Seattle on Saturday to take on the #7 Washington Huskies at 3:30 PM EST on ABC. The game is so big, it's the first time Oregon and Washington have faced each other both ranked in the top 10. College Football Game Day is going to be Live from the campus of UW to promote this game as it is the biggest game of the weekend and arguably one of the biggest games of the college football season. Without a doubt the winner of this game has the inside track to the College Football Playoff and a much clearer path to the Pac-12 Championship.
As I am typing this I am realizing I can't even type into words and describe how big of a game this is. This is the game of games within the PAC-12 Conference and like I said, arguably the game of games of the college football season. I say arguably because I know there will be pretty big and meaningful games during the conference championship week. But as far as October goes, this takes the title of the best game.
With all that said and I can't stress enough that I can't type into words how important and how big this game is, with all that! I must confess....This game does not worry me. I am as confident in Oregon winning this game as I was when Oregon played Portland State. Honestly the real confession here is I was a bit more nervous heading to Lubbock to take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders then I am going to Husky stadium and taking on the top 10 ranked Washington Huskies.
This is Bo Nix's game. This is Bucky Irving's workload. The defense is going to make Penix look mid. We are just over 24 hours away from kickoff and I don't even have butterflies in my stomach for this one. Simply put, Oregon has been in games like this for the last 25 years and has shown up and met the challenge. While Washington has been in similar games, not nearly as much, but when they are in these games they flop and they flop bad.
I guess it's a warning to those who are getting into this game and hyped for this game. I'm sure that hype will grow by late tomorrow morning after Game Day has their few hours next to that piss filled lake and everyone is going to be excited for this game. Well I am here to tell you, settle down your expectations. This is going to be Oregon overpowering and dominating the wannabe's from the North. This one doesn't worry me one bit. I've seen Oregon play this year and I've seen washington play this year. It's clear to see Oregon has what it takes to run away with this game and keep the game in their control the entire time.
Skooo Ducks but I may be a bit more worried about the wazzu game next week.
