I don't pre tip. I don't tip fast food. But, in a traditional, sit down restaurant, I'll tip generously for good service. I won't tip at all if the service sucks.

According to MSNBC, it should be 25%, fellas.
When they flip the screen around, 20% is the minimum option and then 22% and 25%.
Yesterday I had some repairs/maintenance done on my Jeep. It came to about $600. I hand the dude my credit card and he flips the screen around….tipping options. For car repairs where you’re already charging a considerable fee for labor? How about no?

There will never come a day, and if the owner calls me out, I will call him/her a cheap ass bastard to their face for not paying their staff and then pawning their cheapness off on customers, then I'll post a helluva of a review on line.

I would laugh hysterically if I saw that at a mechanic, then I'd tell them they installed the restaurant car reader by mistake.
Why is it that if the grocery store clerk asks me after my purchase if I want to donate my remaining cents to a charity that helps feed people I have no problem saying no, but if that same clerk spins an iPad around asking for a 20% tip I can't say no?

Zero doubt owners are shown statistics that when made uncomfortable, people are weak, spinless morons who'd rather tap that 20% button than face their own weak inner turmoil for disappointing the person watching for their reaction.

I think restaurants should start tipping their customers for selecting their establishments. This shows thanks for an individual going the extra mile and choosing to eat at your place instead of some else's. The tip could come in the form of a discount for a future visit if the owner so desires. This is appropriate because the place wouldn't exist without customers and customers have to expend effort to get there, gas, transportation wear and tear etc. Let's get this started.
